“Friendly Overview of the Pilgrimage”
Reviewed March 14, 2012

Excellent overview of how the pilgrimage was initiated in a small museum just north of the Cathedral. Free, so cannot complain. Excellent exhbits with multilingual translations. Nice people running it.

“Nice”
Reviewed November 27, 2011

The museum is free and small, but touching. My favorite exhibit was the journal by a Japanese man who painted his path to Santiago.

“This is a museum for every kind of pilgrim, but especially those who walk the Caminoto Santiago.”
Reviewed June 26, 2011

Although the Museum of Pilgrimage is off the well-traveled tourist route in Santiago, it is a treasure. The collections and written material not only deal with the traditional pilgrimage to Santiago, but also explore the universality of the concept across cultures and spiritual traditions. It is my understanding that they will be moving into a new building next year which will enable expansion of exhibits and research.
