From the moment we arrived the bellboy helped us from the taxi and Marc at the front desk was very helpful and made us feel welcome. The hotel has a very unique aroma that starts from the lobby and carries all over to each of the guess rooms. In addition, the meal was excellent and Jorge, the head waiter, was knowledgeable about the wine list and menu. Marta , waitresses filled us in on the history of the property and setting and was so helpful at breakfast. The quality of the building and decor are superb as is the comfort of the room which has a heated floor which makes the temperature very even. We loved the spa and our massages that were perfect after our Camino walk. We came during winter season and we have no regrets on coming back a second time. Anthony and Ruffina Roberts

I have to come up with 93 more characters i guess, but "perfect" describes it. A renovated paper mill - spend some time looking at the art on the walls which shows some before and after pictures....

I have had the privilege to be able to stay in a handful of this chain's properties and they are always unique. They can be frighteningly expensive but if you can find one that is within your personal budget - go! The two we stayed in in Spain were both less than $170 a night. Staggering. This was the first. We were not remotely disappointed. It is on the outskirts of Santiago so if you want to see the old city in Cathedral you need to walk or take a cab or drive but that was fine with us. We like to walk. The staff was perfect. They spoke English well, the place was beautifully decorated, it appears to be a renovated mill. The room was immaculate and flawless. We ate in the bar twice, we wanted to take advantage of the high-quality restaurant but were simply too stuffed from many other previous nights of fine dining. In the bar the food was excellent with spot on service. The second night we were there we were sitting next to locals who turned out to be the owners. I think that’s a pretty good recommendation.
There’s a spa on site and we had massages which were excellent. They were also quite reasonable. For a high-end Relais and Chateaux hotel, this place lived up to it in every way and when you throw in the relative inexpensive cost it should not be missed. From the bar staff to the spa staff to the guys at the front desk - congratulations and thanks.

This is a lovely hotel tucked away from the city central by a 5 minute taxi ride. I love Relais and Chateaux hotels and this one is no exception. My only complaint is the lack of proper A/C. Apparently there is an eco-friendly climate control system in the floors. It was a rather warm day, which made for a slightly uncomfortable and restless night due to being too warm for our liking. I am a huge proponent for reducing the tourist carbon footprint, so I suppose it was a small price to pay. We slept with the window open which offered us the tranquil sounds of the river and the melodic sound of the birds chirping.

First of all the hotel website doesn’t do the hotel any justice. I’ve rarely seen a hotel which is such picture perfect in its tasteful decor and service. The hotel is in a historic building which used to be an old paper factory so it’s right next to a river. The setting is transquil with a bamboo grove, fruits and flower trees dotted everywhere. And the hotel itself is like staying at a friend’s home with the most inviting living room and dining rooms. Old pictures and antiques which is fit for any home decoration magazines. The rooms are very cosy albeit slightly too noisy for me but I am very noise sensitive. The service is faultless and personal. The restaurant food is perfect for a hotel. I spent New Years there and usually New Years Eve dinner for a group is horrible but not at this place. Everything is fresh and even the steak is perfectly made, not over cooked at all which is rare for a big group dinner like this. The wines they serve are also extremely well picked. The New Year’s Day brunch was a real treat with a very wide assortments of Galician favourites. Every day the breakfast is something to look forward to even for me who’s not a breakfast person. Even the bread is home made and so are the absolutely delectable jams. The wide assortments of fresh fruits are truly impressive which for a fruit lover is a real treat. The only complaint I have is that the sauna is not equipped with a cold enough shower but this literally is the only complaint I have during the whole stay. This place is a true gem and a reason of its own to visit Santiago de Compostela. Truly extraordinary place! I’ll come back that’s for sure. Hats off to the owner and the entire team for being perfect and creating such a paradise on Earth.

The hotel and staff was wonderful! The rooms were very clean and had a modern bathroom while keeping with the classic Chateau feel. The staff there were so attentive and friendly I was very impressed by how helpful they were and were ready to assist you even before you needed help. Also had an opportunity to utilize their spa services and hydrotherapy spa/pool and it was heaven. Thank you so much for making my stay incredible.
