“Excellent choice for exploring Santiago”
Reviewed September 22, 2012

I may have been a little influenced by finishing the Camino, as anywhere that doesn't include a 20km walk the next day seems pretty nice, but if you are doing the Camino and reach the end then this is a perfect place. It is bang in the centre, near the cathedral, and if church bells annoy you well you better get earplugs but if you are still in a spiritual mood then the stone walls and wooden floorboards are as charming as you can get. The showers are a bit on the cramped side but it is a medieval house so it didn't have them when it was built. Best of all, post Camino, everything you want to see and good restaurants are a SHORT walk away

During my 12 day Northern Spain sojourn, this hostel has the best service. The staff are unbelievably friendly (since Im an experienced traveller I can spot the "forced friendliness" and the genuine friendliness, and in Badalada it's the latter. The room is small but spotlessly clean. I agree with the noise from the wooden floors but nothing my Bose noisecancelling headset cannot fix :) I paid EUR 38 per night so can't really complain. Location is fantastic too.

Oh and Pescadores was recommended to me for good pintxos - great food and value. EUR 1 per pintxo and glass of Cava, in a nice pleasant square.

The rooms are quite small but adequate. Staff speak only limited English but the pensión is spotless. The location is absolutely superb being only a few minutes walk from the Cathedral and close to all the amenities the city has to offer. We arrived early but they still booked us in. Would stay here again when I next go to Santiago de Compostela.

Room Tip: The rooms at the front are larger and overlook the street with French doors.

This small serene pension is in the old city, close to the Cathedral and walking distance to the railway station - if you don't get lost in the meandering streets of Santiago. The owners have limited English, but are hospitable, and maintain an immaculate house. My luggage was held for me while I walked to Finisterre, and when I arrived back in Santiago it had already been moved to my room on the first floor. The room was large enough for the twin beds, chairs around a table, bedside tables and a TV. It had two full length double windows, double glazed with lovely wooden shutters looking on to the street. It was light and airy with the windows open and very comfortable. The bathroom was compact and although the shower was even smaller it was OK.
The house is old and solid and although there was no noise from the street footsteps do echo on the stairs.

Location great. Owners great. Quiet location, but wooden floors and stairs mean you can hear lots of noise when others are moving around (but as there are only a handful of rooms this isn't often). Rooms are small, but this is a pension not a a five star hotel. For the location alone I would return here - 2 mins to the Cathedral and 2 mins to the market in the other direction.

It is very nice place to stay but maybe not for a long time. The room and bathroom are quite small however clean and well furnished.
The location is great - only 2 minutes walk from the Cathedral and Praza de Obradorio. Is is also a quiet place.
The internet works only downstairs in the hall (or maybe in the rooms on the firs floor too) - but it works.
There is TV in the room.
