This is our second time visiting this restaurant. We were here two years ago and had a fantastic meal. We knew we had to visit la Barberia again and hoped it would be as good as we remembered. Well let me say that this restaurant gets better and better. We had the tasting menu. Every course was delicious. In the USA this quality of meal could not be had at this price. The chef’s mom makes the desserts. We had the opportunity to meet her and she is a lovely and very talented woman. In a town of many excellent restaurants this one really stand out. I would highly recommend La Barberia to anyone visiting La Coruna.

Siempre amables, acogedor y la comida buenísima.
Hemos ido numerosas veces de carta y al menú degustación y siempre tenemos ganas de volver.
También agradable para tomarte la primera copa.

Always attentive, cozy and excellent food.
I visit it quite often, great menú and tapas. Always leaves you wanting to come back.
Great also for the first drink on a night out with friends.

We booked for lunch at this tiny, 16 seat cafe in old town. The place used to be a barber shop, hence the name and some cute leftover decorations.

Mauro was our waiter, friendly, efficient, and informative. He told us what each of our six, yes, six courses, consisted of, in both English and Spanish. We were blown away by the overall quality, and supreme value, of what we ate. My favorite dish was the heirloom tomatoes with a seaweed béchamel atop it.

When dessert arrived, it was not one, but TWO pieces of very good homemade cakes each. Mauro told us his mother made them all, and then we met her and got a hug at the end of the meal. All this for 20 Euros each plus wine so inexpensive coca cola would cost more!

We selected this restaurant after reading up on TripAdvisor for our 2 day visit to La Coruna. We found the location in the daytime and weren't impressed by the street very narrow lots of graffiti and a little run down. Don't let this put you off. We went in the evening anyway, it was a Monday so no booking needed (only weekend apparently). The restaurant has a barbers shop theme with photos and memorabilia around the walls, quirky but tasteful We were met by Xavi the owner/proprietor who talked us through the menu in very good English. It is a limited menu about 6 items using lots of local produce and a number of ideas that marry different ingredients together very well. We chose meals to share, first a goats cheese salad which was roasted and coated in almonds, followed by ceti mushrooms on a bed of pureed potatoes and spinach with herbs and peppers, very tasty. Then a fish course of bacalao, salted cod beautifully cooked, then a roasted belly pork accompanied by three separate sauces.
There was just enough room for a pudding which was a "tarta de la abuela" all superb and accompanied by red and white wine of the region, recommended by Xavi, very nice, and aqua for a total unbelievable price of 44 euros. Anybody going to La Coruna this is a must try restaurant for an memorable evening. Great find.

Surprising presentation of food with local products. Authentic & retro. Attractively priced along good guality. Do not go here if for exclusiveness but for the joy of life.
