My wife and I stayed at the Sant Jordi for two nights in February. We chose this hotel because we wanted a room with a balcony and sea view as we were traveling through Spain and most of our stays had been in towns. This hotel is located close to a nice beach that would be great in the summer months. The one downside is the fact that a railway runs between the hotel and the beach so you need to get used to the trains that seemed to be fairly frequent. The gentlemen that run the hotel are very hospitable and we enjoyed the large gin & tonics, evening meals and lovely breakfasts. The fact that the hotel had a large car park is a big plus. We decided to walk into the centre of Tarragona and it took took about 30 minutes but we chose to use a number 1 bus for the return trip.

Room Tip: Choose a sea view

If you enjoy great service, large clean rooms, amazing sea views, then this is one if the best. Everything you need for a perfect stay in this beautiful City. Lovely walk on the rocks to the sites or if you prefer number 1 or 9 bus. A long time since we came across such a delightful hotel, please keep it as it is! If you like swish modern impersonal hotels forget it, leave it to people like me. Cannot wait to return.

Room Tip: Must have a sea view

My wife and I stayed here on the first night of arrival in Spain. It was only about 1 hour south of the airport (BCN). The old town has many interesting Roman sites and the man at the desk was helpful with maps and parking locations in the old town. Very good location convenient to the old town and free parking. Good view of the Med from the balcony.

The TomTom GPS put the location about 1k south of the actual location. I've added a photo to show the hotel from the street which will help locating the address. Stop in front to unload luggage as the parking is one level down.

Room Tip: All rooms face the Med. Higher is better for the view.

Spotless, great location, excellent service, friendly hosts who speak very little English but enough to get by. This hotel was staffed by older gentlemen when we arrived, and they were incredibly hospitable.....in an old school, Sinatra-esque kind of way. The bar is delightful, the restaurant wonderful, and the room perfect with a great view of the Mediterranean. HUGE bathroom, beautifully appointed. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay more than one night.

I stayed at the San Jordi for 1 night and left wishing I could stay more. The hotel is very well maintained and has a cosy, family feel to it. The staff is very welcoming and make you feel at home. The breakfast is 5 euros and honestly, it is the only hotel I've been to that could easily charge triple and it wouldn't be exaggerated, On the table is a basket of bread, but they then bring you toasted croissants, muffins, toasted baguettes, yogurts, juices and coffee continually. The room had a great vue on the sea, which is literally 2 minutes from the hotel. The beach is very clean and quiet, the water is clear and clean. Warning: at the end of that beach is a nudist beach and some of the nudist tend to take walks over to the non-nudist beach. If you are travelling with kids, watch out. The room was very well equipped, a large variety of products was offered and in big quantities. The sheets and towels smelled heavenly and everything was perfectly clean. We had booked for 3 and ended up being 4 and they were very accommodating telling us that we could take a second room or, we could sleep all in one room with no extra charge (which we did, and they directly sent an extra set of towels). Also, the price per night was way below average of any other comparable hotel.
The hotel is 5 minutes away from the very nice and historic city center which is very convenient to go out for supper.
I would go back any time to spend a week of relaxing and lounging on the beach.

This hotel was in an excellent spot, easy to find and so close to a beautiful beach. Accommodation comfortable without being over the top, lovely views of the coast. It was especially good for train spotting all the different trains coming in to Tarragona which Ed loved. The staff were especially helpful and the bar a great late opportunity for a drink. Brilliant stopover, returning on the homeward journey.

Room Tip: All rooms overlook the beach
