This art gallery is well hidden in the Old Town, you might just bump into it if you decide to visit the cathedral and go in/out the cloister door...
Cosmopolitan atmosphere when there're openings or events (they organise concerts sometimes), you can meet people from all over the world and then English is the main language you'll hear.

The owner was very gracious, interesting and beautiful person to visit. The store is nestled on the back side of the cathedral and seminary at the top of the hill. She is very involved in civic events and is enthusiastic about promoting Tarragona. She stocks an eclectic stock of art from local artist. Almost a museum unto itself.

This is a lovely little gallery tucked away in a little building full of history next to the cathedral. Soledad and Marta are super-friendly, knowledgable, and clearly personally invested. Look out in particular for occasional concerts and performance - the Spanish Guitar concert, accompanied by red wine and good company, was the highlight of Tarragona for me.

If you happen to be in Tarragona...this is definitely a small but lovely place you should not miss if you are interested in art and architecture! If you are staying in Tarragona or round the area for a couple of days..check the events scheduled by the nice and competent gallery staff.

I RAN INTO THIS PLACE JUST COMING OUT OF THE CATHEDRAL EXIT.Soledad was extra special. She knew about every piece in the store. You could not get someone more personable and knowledgeable . No pressure to buy. Excellent pieces of art and ceramics that are way above the average tourist trap places on the main thoroughfares. The store is just as charming with all the old stonework which is actually part of the cathedral. Your eyes will first wander to the back wall then you scan around and realize there are a lot of things in the store. Each nook has very interesting pieces. Take your time and look. I defy people not to find something that tickles your fancy. I bought several ceramic pieces.

We went for a quick look at the Gallery, and found that there was a flamenco performance the night we were in town. It was amazing and authentic performance which made our stay in Tarragona!
We came back the next day to buy a small piece of art and had a great chat with the management and staff at the gallery, where they gave us some excellent advice with travelling around the area. They looked after shipping of the artwork and couldnt have been more helpful.
If you see an event advertised around the town when you are there, I definately recommend it!

We stumbled across this gallery nestled in the walls quite by accident. We were welcomed in and treated as long lost friends. We bought a beautiful painting which is proudly housed in my living room. Would certainly recommend a visit and will certainly be returning.

I highly recommend a visit to the Tarraco Art Gallery.
The art works sold here,of local artists, are clealry carefully chosen. The works here are unique and each art work I looked at displayed good taste and beauty.
Here you can find a wide range of items, from jewelery to paintings, pottery works and so much more. What's more is that nothing is over priced and sold at a fair and affordable cost. There are also lot's of smaller items, which are not expensive at all, and serve well as souvenirs for friends and family back home.
The service is exceptional too. I spend an hour in the shop, as I did not only feel welcomed but also was given all the attention needed, and ended up sitting in one of the comfortable chairs, surrounded by old walls, dating back to ancient times, soaking in the atmosphere of history and contemporary Spanish art, that finds its roots here in the old town of Tarragona.

With a group of women friends, we decided to walk-about the ancient Roman amd Medieval quarters of this beautiful city of Tarragona. We wanted to see the recently restored organ in the Cathedral and, just as we came out of the cloister (another must see) we happend into this amazing treasure trove of art and artisanry. The paintings, the sculptures, and all the beatiful things made by local artists; just wonderful!
The place is run by an attentive young lady who helped us browse through the place, gave us details and anecdotes about the art pieces, as though she had an intimate personal knowledge of the lives of every artist who is on display. Exquisit!
Also, I also found out they hold music and other fine art performances under the impressive mediaval vault that houses the gallery. I definitely plan to go back soon.
