Considering how important Tarragona was to the Romans, this museum doesn't disappoint in terms of its artefacts which covers a wide range of the livelihood of the roman life. So if you drop by the city with enough spare time, it's worth a visit. In our opinion, it's only second to Merida's very grand Roman remain museum.

If you like ancient history or cultures you'll enjoy this place. The ticket price is very reasonable and you get a good guide to daily life in Roman Tarragona. They've really done a good job with this museum, there's an impressive array of artifacts in the form of tools, toys and utensils, statues and busts, pillars and portions of wall, and a very cool mosaic. Come in to beat the heat and learn about the town as it was thousands of years ago.

Tarragona was the capital of the Roman province of Hispania. The museum has an extensive collection of Roman mosaics, statues, daily artefacts and coins. The exhibitions are neatly presented, the building itself being a gem to visit. On a very hot day, you'll appreciate the air conditioning too. For history buffs, only Segovia matches Tarragona. Do yourself a favour and visit the Roman ruins scattered all over town along with the museum.
