“A good hour”
Reviewed April 23, 2014

There isn't much there, but you can spend a good hour looking around the Amphitheatre and looking at the videos of the church that once stood there. The place is well restored and work is ongoing. Very cheap also. It cost only 3 euros for the family and cheaper still if you get a pass for all the monuments in Tarragona. There is no snack bar or drinks on sale, so take water if it is hot. The guides are very helpful and only too happy to give you a personal tour.

“Great site to visit”
Reviewed March 20, 2014

We enjoyed our visit to this amphitheatre which is situated right by the sea, shame the railway line runs between the amphitheatre and the sea, but it doesn't spoil it. Interesting video in English giving the history of the site and its various uses over the years. We got a ticket which covered several of the sites, which was good value

“Very interesting and great vistas”

Very well preserved next to the sea and has the remains of a church in it as well with the cross shape very visible - great example of reuse of roman architecture

“Pleasing to Eye and Soul”
Reviewed February 17, 2014

The amphitheatre is a piece of art well preserved from past 2000 years. Though currently it's in remains, one wonders of it's glory at the time of built. Overlooking Mediterranean sea and bank opposite, circ roma, fort and old town it's at walking distance from local eateries and places of interest.
Tickets start from 3.30 euros and open between 10-7, the summer and winter timings differ. We personally were less curios to walk the guided path so didn't bother ticket and captured a lot of pics from outside.
Suggest you plan the trip either in morning at dawn or evening at just as the sun sets.
