My girlfriend and I visited based on tripadvisor reviews as we were staying in the area, and fancied eating outside of our hotel for a change.
We arrived unannounced and the manager showed us to a table immediately, the restaurant wasn't too busy but there were a few other diners in.
The menu is short but I believe it's better to offer a smaller menu and be good at it, than offer 30 dishes and be average at them.
The service was absolutely brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. We both prefer meat to fish and decided on the two different veal dishes after asking for the manager's opinions and choosing a wine. A small appetiser of hummus and beef pâté was bought out although we didn't order it, it was very nice but thankfully not too filling.
Both main courses arrived in almost no time and my veal filet was perfectly cooked, well presented and tasted great.
We both had a dessert too, after being tempted by the dessert menu. I had an orange parfait with chocolate fondue which was served with orange pieces and sherbet. It was extremely strong tasting (definitely for the chocolate lover) and my partner described her cheesecake as the best she'd ever had.
The restaurant was quiet and intimate, perfect for us as a couple but I'm not sure how it would be as a group venue, 4-5 would be fine though.
This review might sound completely gushing, and we're not regular fine diners, but we both like good food and we were very, very impressed by not only the food, but also the excellent service from the very friendly and chatty manager.
Will absolutely go back next time I'm in that area.
