La Oca is a Sitges institution. We go every time we visit Sitges and usually more than once. They serve a range of food (including pizza) but the chickens are the stars (!) - salted and delicious. They're revolving and roasting invitingly at the front of the restaurant. The thing to have is the half chicken and chips and to resist the offered side dishes. We order a salad if we want more. The place is cheap and cheerful and open late (we've eaten here after midnight).

As other reviewers have said, the tables are very close to each other. But the waiters are very friendly and helpful, and the food was quite good. We had roast leg of lamb with a huge portion of grilled tomatoes and bell peppers. Too full after that to have dessert!

Although it is not the best food I ate while in Sitges it was by far the most enjoyable evening out. The food was still very tasty with a traditional home cooked feel. The restaurant is centrally located with a great warm atmosphere and absolutely brilliant service. We were well taken care of but not pestered. I couldn't be more impressed with the waiters!! The prices were also very reasonable. Would highly recommend for a lovely night out!!

Roast chicken is one of the main offerings in most of the restaurants here - after we ate at Los Caracoles in Barcelona (world renowned I believe!) we had chicken at La Oca - which is hands down better than Los Caracoles!! The chicken was very tasty, plenty of it too ( I had a half chicken, but 1/4 would be good too I am sure!) And the Truffa dessert (choc truffles with cream!) fantastic - even my husband, not so sweet toothed, ate these! We went back again on our last night, and the waiter recommended the lamb - even better than the chicken! It was loin of lamb, masses amount of meat, which slid off the bone - superb. I asked for extra vegetables and potatoes - unless you want a main course which consists of the meat, maybe some patatas fritas, and a tomatoe (that was what we got in Los Caracoles!) you really must make sure you ask for any veg or other type potatoes. (mine came with very thinly sliced potatoes which were delicious) The cost was reasonable - bearing in mind prices have definitely shot up since we were previously in Barcelona, the norm was anything from 50 up to 70/80 euros for two of us for dinner - depends also on what drinks etc you have. The restaurant was packed out, with people waiting for tables, on our first visit. This does tend to mean that there is a lot of noise when the place is full; the second time we were earlier and it was quieter, but starting to fill up as we left. For atmosphere, not amazing, but give me the good food and service!!

For Main dinner course, the grilled veal steak with choice of Sauce. Ask for it to be a little underdone and then when they bring it out you can check and have it done a bit more. The meat is so good, it is a shame to overcook it.
Cost €15 + 2/3 euro for each extras.
The speciality of the house is the Roasted Chicken on the spit, returned and had lunch the following day, and I have never tasted better.
