If you're not expecting lots of luxuries but a clean and comfortable hotel next to the historical downtown and the city beaches, hotel El Cid is a very good option. The staff is also very nice and really helpful. Finally the breakfast buffet is fair for the prize.

Again I stayed at the El Cid in Sitges for the second time. The staff is fabulous and exceptionally helpful. Tony the manager, goes out of his way to help, and nothing is too much trouble. What a difference it makes to have nice staff.
The room I had was great. I booked a single but gave me a double with a balcony looking onto the road. The noise was minimal and not a problem as there is only daytime traffic....and the double glazed doors pretty much keeps all noise out anyway.
The rooms and hotel in general are clean and well maintained, with wifi and internet free in the community area. The pool is large and also very clean, with plenty of deck chairs provided.
I particularly liked the breakfast room which was spacious and not cramped...plenty of room for everyone. Breakfast finished at 12 noon, so even the party goers could manage to stagger in at some stage and get some much needed blotting paper! And of course how civilised to have a bottle of champers (caver), in the ice bucket for breakfast. Breakfast was good, with mostly cold cuts of meat, cheeses, all sorts of breads...or toasted, with tea, coffee, juices and yogurt. You could also have a hot breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages.
I will certainly be recommending the El Cid to my friends.

Room Tip: It`s worth paying a little extra (still very cheap) for the larger rooms with a balcony.

From Sitges train station this hotel is only 5 minutes away and very easy to find with pleasant helpful staff . The decor and furniture looked tired and dated as were the rooms but they were cleaned every day with fresh towels. The room and bathroom was adequate and the shower was superb. Breakfast was of a reasonable choice and the location of the hotel was good for shops and the promenade. Its a cheap and cheerful budget hotel and one I will be returning to again without doubt.

This hotel is home-from-home. The staff are brilliant and very helpful at all times. As soon as you walk through the door you are given the red-carpet treatment and your room will be just as you requested. Of course, there are a wide range of rooms some overlooking the street, some the swimming pool. But all of the rooms are clean, serviced every day at a reasonable time, with modern fittings. The El Cid is situated away from the promenade up a quiet street so is away from any noise/music. There are restaurants very close to the hotel and plenty nearer the centre of Sitges. You can come and go as you please and there is a 24-hour entrance policy. A sister hotel, the Galeon, does a very value-for-money buffet dinner for €9.50- eat as much as you like, and the menus are displayed in the El Cid's foyer.
I have stayed at this hotel for the past few years and it is always tip-top! You must stay here!

Room Tip: Wherever you stay in the hotel there is double glazing which helps with the little noise there is...

Thank you, for the lovely things you said.
I guess the highest compliment we can be paid as accommodation providers, is to have guests return and enjoy their stay for another time, thank you for that and for your company. Thank you very much.

Had a great week in Sitges, Hotel only full at weekends, Had room on 4th floor - triple bed (v. comfortable), fridge, large balcony with view to sea and powerful shower. Bathroom noise from neighbouring room very clear. Rooms cleaned and changed every day. Swimming pool chilly but clean and plenty of sunbeds. Breakfast buffet good but fruit juice and coffee not. Centrally situated for walking around town, few minutes walk to beach. 5 minutes walk to station - 7 Euros to airport rather than 70 for a taxi.
Would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Sitges.

Room Tip: Rooms on 4th floor - large balcony over pool, air con and fan.

Had a lovely week in Sitges and visited Barcelona several times. Absolutely beautiful place, lots to do and a lots of chances to relax.

The El Cid is a great little hotel with friendly staff. Pretty basic but clean and good value for money. It's in a good position, about 5 minutes walk from the beach and the railway station. There are plenty of bars and restaurants near by but the double glazing in the rooms meant it was nice and quiet at night.

Next time I would probably spend a little bit extra and go for a larger room. I had one of the single rooms and it was rather small and a little dated. That said I was on a budget, the room i got was very cheap and it fitted my needs perfectly. The room was cleaned and towels replaced everyday.

Breakfast again was fairly basic but a decent range of hot food, pastries, fresh fruit etc.

I'd strongly recommend a trip to Sitges and the El Cid is a great place to stay if you're on a budget.

The Hotel is a couple of minutes walk away from the nearby Renfe Railway Station and the Mon-Bus stop if you travelled into Sitges by Bus. There is no need to hire a taxi into Sitges, the public transport options (train and bus are excellent from whichever Barcelona Airport you arrive form). The Hotel was situated on Calle Jose (Carrer de Sant Josep in Catalan) just off the busy Passeig de Vilanova. The entrance and reception area was immaculate and very well presented. It had a very old authentic Spanish feel to it. We were greeted by a very friendly Hotel Receptionist who checked us in and provided all the information that we needed for our stay. We paid for a safety deposit box, which is 3 euros per day hire and a 25 euros deposit was also required to hire this. We got this returned to us in full and hassle free when we checked out. We were also charged 2 euros as part of an accommodation tax that has been enforced by the Catalan Government. Copies of Passport/National ID cards are also taken at Reception.

The Receptionist noticed that it was my Birthday on arrival and arranged in front of us to receive a complimentary bottle of bubbly, which was a lovely gesture! We used the elevator to the fourth floor and found our room. The room was small, but was certainly enough for a weekend stay. It had twin beds. Furniture was old, but fit in with the charm of the place. The balcony was a very good size. 2 sets of doors lead to the balcony, which are very secure. The balcony was a sun-trap and had tables and chairs. There were ample coat-hangers. Bathroom and shower were a reasonable size. Shower gel and soap was provided. Plenty of clean towels. Within minutes of arriving in the room, the maid knocked and brought in the free bubbly in a bucket of ice with 2 champagne glasses. She also wished me happy Birthday and gave me 2 kisses on the cheek, which again was lovely.

The maid service was excellent, rooms were cleaned immaculately and fresh towels provided. Breakfast was included on the trip. Breakfast was very relaxing and set in a spacious dining room. Plenty of cold meats, cheeses, yoghurts, toast, bread, tea, coffee, range of fruit juices were al on offer in addition to hot food such as sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs and beans. This was a pleasant surprise. During my stay, I needed use of an iron and enquired at reception. The receptionist provided me with a key to a room that had ironing facilities in with a ice cool fan above. Nothing was too much trouble for the receptionists at this Hotel. They provided ice-buckets and corkscrews upon request. All spoke good English, but do try your Spanish on them if you know any as they admire that and it's always fun to do. Reception is 24 hours and every receptionist was incredibly friendly, polite, welcoming and helpful.

The location of the Hotel is also one of this Hotel's biggest selling points. Around the corner, 2 minutes away is a mini supermarket and also a tobacco shop. Plenty of bars and restaurants are a stones throw away and all of the gay clubs and bars are within a very short walking distance, less than 5 minutes. We had a room facing the street and had no noise problems whatsoever. Very pleasant stay and would highly recommend this Hotel to anybody visiting Sitges!

Room Tip: Definitely choose a room with a balcony and don't get a taxi from Airport to Sitges! The public...
