We stayed in hotel San Sebastián playa for 5 nights. Location is great near the beach. In the morning I went to a balcony just to hear the sea rushing and rumbling. We had a room with lateral sea view and it was worth every penny! We were in the top floor and could actually see the sea, smell the air and hear it.

Breakfast was pretty good as it was included in the room price. Nice selection of bread, cheeses, ham, fruits etc. one major problem with the breakfast was the coffee machine which was designed to a home use, not for a hotel. We spent most of the time at breakfast in a queue. Waiting to get our shots of coffee. And as a Finnish couple we drink coffee A LOT! Sometimes they were out of cups or the machine didn't have water/beans. Or the grounds container was full. They made up these random accidents by giving out coffee from a real manual espressomonster they had behind the servicedesk. :)

The location is very nice with a short walk to Balmins family/nude beach, but a bit far from the "party centre" which is located approximately 1 kilometer from the hotel. We walked this trip many times a day and it was not a long walk, except at 6.30 am in overtoxicated state with too small shoes. Then it felt a bit long... :)

We stayed at this beautiful hotel near the beach a couple years ago. The room was gorgeous and well kept up. The service was great. The scenery and culture of the city was beyond what I could have ever dreamed. When you walk out of the hotel you step out onto the boardwalk and can choose from the beach, the ocean, seeing beautiful architecture, having a nice meal, or checking out a flea market. Just a wonderful experience!

I stayed with my partner for 10 days in July. The hotel is in a lovely area which has fewer tourists and a nice stretch of beach.

The rooms are very clean and well provided for with efficient air conditioning. Very comfortable bed.

Breakfast was lovely on the terrace which in the day is a cafe overlooking the beach. Eggs made to order and a wide selection of cold meats and fruit salad.

The beach was so good that we didn't feel the need to try the pool but it looked good.

On occasion we heard sounds from next door particularly in the bathroom and if neighbours are noisy this could be problematic. it did not worry us though.

Its quite an expensive hotel so only 4 stars rather than 5 just for the value for money point.

We will certainly come back next time.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the top floor. The cleaners scrape the furniture over the tiled floors which can be noisy.

Had 2 rooms for 11 nights. All rooms have balcony, but not worth the additional cost of superior room to have a side sea view. We had one of these and a standard looking over the pool, which was better in the late afternoon as in the shade. Both were same size and facilities.
Apart from the queue for the coffee, which was never more than a few minutes, the breakfast was very good. Could sit at the outside tables on the promenade overlooking the beach and enjoy a leisurely time. Good fresh fruit, cheeses and cold meats. Cereals available and cook on hand to make omelettes, fried and boiled eggs.
Pool was a little small, but so is the hotel. Although only 7 loungers, also plenty of tables and chairs around the pool to sit and enjoy the shade in the late afternoon and evening. Bring your bug spray though as 2 of us were repeatedly bitten when sitting there!
Beds were really comfy, slightly cramped having 3 in a family room, but still enough space. Bathroom was large and good shower, although screen so small, always flooded the floor!
There was a smell of cigarette smoke in the room when we arrived, which took a while to shift.
Staff at the hotel were lovely. Maids were very accommodating, as were reception staff. Only problem was when the wifi would not work at start of out stay and the router needed resetting, but no-one would do it until we made a fuss.
Steve B

Room Tip: Standard rooms looking over the pool are best for the afternoon shade and to enjoy a drink and sit on the balcony if you cannot afford the few rooms with direct sea views at the front.

stayed 1 week with our older teenagers and enjoyed the hotel's position; right on the beach which was very family friendly. Its a lovely 10 minute walk to town centre through the cobbled streets, past the church and some lovely shops. Our room had a pool view which was fine as we didn't spend a lot of time sitting about.Enjoyed breakfast in the restaurant with sea view. There could be more staff helping out at breakfast to clear plates but it wasn't too bad. room was very clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful. Really liked the free use of beach towels daily. I would definitely use this hotel again.

Room Tip: unless you plan to sit out on your balcony a lot, then save some money and take a pool view room. There are plenty of lovely bars and restaurants to enjoy the views and do a bit of people watching.
