For 5 nights B&B sea view we paid 1200euro. For that I expected a premium service. This hotel did not deliver value for money at all. I have stayed in budget chains that were 100times better than this. We actually tried to leave a move elsewhere but anything of quality in the area was booked out.

Pros
Location: there is no doubt the location across the road from the main beach is a wonderful location. If you get a sea view you will have an amazing vista of the beach, promenade and church. Restaurants, nightlife, shopping and old town just 5mins walk from the hotel. Sitges is small so everything is pretty close together.

Staff: very friendly, helpful and pleasant. I couldn’t fault the staff at all.

Beach towels: having this service was a great positive. Could change them every day and bring to the beach across the road.

Wi-Fi: worked reasonably well. 5-8pm though and it was very spotty.

Cons
The Room: Initially given room at very top of hotel. I found this room too high up and these rooms are smaller & have smaller balconies that all rooms on lower floors. We asked to be changed to a lower floor. Lower floor room on 4th floor was given. We had unpacked when I saw from the firelocation info inside the room door, that the room was the smallest on the floor. We were annoyed again but decided to just live with it. Just don’t understand why we were given the smallest rooms twice even though others who checked in soon after were given the larger rooms. Room had two single beds. Room was small. Cold. Badly painted. Bare minimal decor. Refurb done very cheaply about 5-6 yrs ago. Bathroom was tiny. Difficult for 2 people to be in there at the same time. Walls are paper thin. Oh my God the noise.... you could hear everything from the neighbors on each side and above, below. Might as well have all been in the room together. As there are tiles on the floor the maid dragging the beds/furniture from 8am was a really great start to each day too. Nighttime then was full of people returning home shouting, roaring, and the odd room party. Wonderful - NOT. Didn’t see any security monitoring who was coming in/out or what was going on in the hotel. Levels of cleanliness in the toilet not great. Some dubious stain on the lid of the toilet when we checked into the room. Wasn’t removed for 2 days.

Breakfast: cold food. Greasy eggs. Poor selection of cereals. No sense or reason to the layout of the buffet. Butter was placed at opposite end of where e.g. jams but be. I liked that they had a separate allergy-free section. Room itself was nice with good view. But the standard of the food was not good.

Check-out: friendly, helpful receptionist - however, additional items from the bar had been added to our bill. We didn’t have anything from the bar in the hotel anytime. We never even went in to it. Someone charged to our room. Still waiting to see if they try and charge my CrCard for it in the next few days....there will be war if they do!

I see now why this hotel has pretty low ratings out of what is a low baseline for quality accommodation ….Sitges is not a good resort for accommodation. So if we had paid 120-150 a night I would be OK. But having spent much more than that per night I felt cheated. The location is good. The rooms are not good. The view is good. The breakfast is mediocre. All in all not value for money.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms. Avoid top 2 floors or rooms ending in 25 on floors 1-7.

We spent 3 nights here recently and really enjoyed our stay. The staff are reasonably friendly and spoke very good English. The check-in process did seem to take a very long time (i.e. 15 mins), as did check-out, although I believe there was a server issue which caused this on check-out.

The location is perfect in Sitges - right on the beachfront, across from the gay beach. The rooms were very good size with a balcony overlooking the beach. The rooms are reasonably modern, with comfortable beds, and were very clean.

The wifi is complimentary however is quite slow, and we could only get coverage in half the room, and not on the balcony. Value for money was quite good for a sea view room and facilities when compared to other hotels in Sitges, but is definitely not at the budget end of the scale.

Overall it was a great stay and I'd recommend it to others.

Great hotel in a great location.
Room was clean and smart and a great bathroom, we stayed on the 5th floor with a sea view. Room was spacious and had a lovely balcony.
Would stay here again. Staff very helpful.

Room Tip: Sea or mountain view would be great

Stayed in the Calipolis hotel Sitges from August 15 till saturday August 23 which was a rather disappointing experience.
The so called double room which was issued to us on the 2nd floor at the backside of the hotel was small and very noisy. During the night people walking up and down the staircase which was very disturbing as well as noises from rooms around. When asked at the reception if possible to change the room they said, not possible because we are full. I then said I will check out straight away and I want the rest of the money back for the room/days which I will not use (you have to pay for the complete stay when you check in...they say it is the hotel policy)... and then suddenly they had an other room at the side of the hotel on the 4th floor from which the ocean was visible. I had to pay 30 euros per night extra for this which I agreed. Room wise a more spacious and better room, but still noisy; banging, walking of people over the hall ways and scraping furniture upstairs and next doors.the whole night long. Also now and then a terrible smell (sewage) throughout the hotel corridor and reception area. Unfortunately I used the brown blanket which is stored in the rooms cabinet in the hotel ones and the following day I had red rash all over my
body which needed to be treated (bed bugs). The hotels' breakfast in the big breakfast room is a huge buffet with an extensive selection of food, however the coffee machines are not clean; after one coffee with milk, the first day I suffered diarrhea. In this breakfast hall they play heavy " music " which reminded me of what you find in hotels in Russia. Perhaps they do this for the many Russian guests this hotel accomodates , to make them feel at home. They days we used beach towels from the reception they were given often in an unfriendly way.
This morning we had an early flight home so we wanted to have breakfast at 7am however the room folder information states that in summer the breakfast is from 8am only, so we thought this would not be possible. When we checked out at 07.30 and explained to the receptionist that we could not have breakfast as it opens at 8am (we prepaid all the breakfasts) he said the information was wrong and it starts at 7am. In other words the room info is wrong. The receptionist did not apologize and did not offer to pay back the breakfast, so they took the money for this as well. Not a good service at all.
Conclusion is that this is a typical mass tourist hotel , overprized and has deterioriated (stayed here 7 times before in the past and now clearly note a big change). The only thing they are interested in is your credit-card. Will not come back to this place

Room Tip: never get a room in the back of the hotel...very noisy

We recently stayed at this hotel for 11 nights. Our overall experience was very good. Upon arrival we were allocated a room on the top floor with a mountain view. However, there was some unexplained loud humming/drilling noise coming from within the walls. We were moved to another room on the 4th floor. Again same problem. We were then allocated a deluxe room on the 1st floor, with champagne for the inconvenience. The next morning we had a meeting with the hotel manager. He apologised profusely and allocated us a room at the front with sea view. Very good customer service. The breakfast is very good and despite previous comments on this website we thought the beds were very comfy. Slept soundly every night. Ok, because of its location you do get some noise from the street, but we got used to it. The internet connection is ok. Just move around your room to get the best signal. Overall this hotel gets the thumbs up. The main thing for us is that the hotel manager Eduard sorted out the early problem to our satisfaction

Room Tip: Room with a sea view

First, the positives: as everyone says: perfect location directly across the street from the beach. The breakfast is great with a huge selection. The staff is very helpful. Views from the balcony is also great. The rooms are just okay however. The bed is very hard. The chairs are plastic. The a TV has only one English language channel and it's a French news channel. Bathroom is fine. Internet worked well. It's a bit pricey for what you receive, but a good choice, and I would stay again.

Room Tip: Balcony room overlooking the Sea

We were gay travellers in Sitges for the first time this year. The hotel seemed to have a mixed clientele of families, older travellers and gay travellers but again they appeared to be of the older age bracket.

1. Location
This is the best selling point of the hotel, its great location. It's right on the beach front and in the heart of Sitges. You are close to all the main beaches, amenities, bars, restaurants and nightlife.

2. Room
We booked our room through an offer on a website so didn't expect a sea view - and we didn't get! Our room had a nice view over Sitges with the hills behind. No balcony unfortunately although many of the rooms do. The decor was a little dated and functional - all greys and magnolias, not much style. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. One day one of our easy chairs inexplicably disappeared but as we weren't in the hotel much we didn't comment. Wi-fi was pretty reliable all over the hotel.

3. Restaurant/bar
We didn't use the restaurant and it never looked busy whilst we were there. There is a nice bar at the front for pre-going out drinks but it's not a place that will ever be the life and soul of the party. We had breakfast once at the hotel, paying 12 euro each. If you like an all you can eat buffet style breakfast then it represents excellent value for money. A massive choice of cold and hot food available.

4. Staff
All of the staff that we came into contact with were professional, polite, courteous and helpful.

5. Extras
The hotel has a gym but really it's just a small room with a couple of machines. There is a small pool with some recliners at the front of the hotel but being opposite the beach I didn't use it.

6. Overall
If you want a quiet stay but still be in the heart of the city then it's a great location, which is what you are really paying a premium for. Some interior modernisation and colour would be nice but kind staff and a clean room.

Room Tip: If you want a sea view certainly request when you book. No chance otherwise.
