A very average hotel with a great location right across from the beach - arguably the best location in Sitges. The hotel itself feels like a glorified dorm - everything is tiled to make cleaning easy, plywood furniture, drab and cheap curtains and linen. Rooms are spacious and always very clean. Forget about WiFi - the signal is so weak that it really only allows for downloading a very limited amount of data at 3 am. Most of the time it is too weak even to be picked up by any mobile device in the room (it is somewhat stronger in the hotel lobby). The breakfast is a big and hearty spread - the only thing that is 4 star about this hotel. They are building a new Sofitel across the road from the Calipolis. This may signal problems ahead for the Calipolis which has so far only been able to charge the absurd rates it charges beacuse there is no competition for it in Sitges.

Stayed 8 nights in a mountain facing room on 7th floor. Staff were lovely on check-in , as are the restaurant staff in the mornings. As mentioned the wi-fi works perfectly, and the location is great. However the room is long over due a major re-fit, there are Grohe fittings in the bathroom, but the old sink, bath, toilet and bidet need changing, all those items in a very small bathroom, means your knees are nearly touching the bidet as you sit on the toilet! As mentioned the shower is a lottery, freezing or scolding. The room was comfortable but again very dated. In my opinion this is over priced as there are other hotels with similar location that are approx 20-30% cheaper

As a travel industry professional Id like to give an unbiased review as there have been some bad reviews this property unwarranted. Location: Cant beat it - perfectly situated. Pool is small yes but rarely busy - beach is across the street. Staff were friendly and proffesional - treat them with respect and you will receive the same - they were never rude or off with me in fact the reverse! Bfast buffet of Int'l standard. All seaview rooms have been renovated to 4* standard - totally acceptable modern furnishings with views to die for. I viewed standard seaview and one bedroom suites. Didn't view the Mtn view rooms which appraently havent been refurbed? Reports that walls are thin? Never heard a peep from next room whilst I stayed? Lobby area modern, brght and airy and clean. It's a decent hotel in a great lcoation. Get a seaview room and ignore the moans from other reviewers - it's not a Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton so dont expect it to be but it is a good Spanish 4* hotel. Good selection of restaurants next to hotel of particular note the resutarant at the Hotel Santa Ana a few doors down. No compliants at all. Great stay.

Room Tip: Book seaview rooms as these are guaranteed to be refurbed.

Great location on the seafront. Newly installed bathroom sinks and bathroom wall treatments. Linens need to be upgrade and need to have available down pillows. Sole grief is the difficulty in getting a real nonsmoking room. First room had shared hvac and the cigar and cigarette smoke came through AC and the intake vent when not in use. Management did move me the next day since hotel was full.

Staff are reluctant to followup with smokers on nonsmoking floors. It is still best hotel in sitges.

Calipolis is in a fantastic spot – right across the street from the gay beach. We had an oceanfront room on 7F and it was well worth it for superb sea views and a huge terrace with dining area and 2 sun loungers. We had champagne and snacks on the terrace overlooking the beach. Rooms are OK but not great – adequate spacious bathroom though it had an annoying alternate scalding hot then suddenly freezing shower! Worth the money for the location and views but not the room. That said, I would recommend this to anyone who doesn’t demand a 5star room but loves a sea view.

Room Tip: seafront rooms have fantastic views

Dear guest,
Thank you for your review; we are glad to know that your stay at Calipolis Hotel was pleasant and satisfactory.
As regards your room on the 7th floor, the 7th, 8th and 9th floors do not have refurbished rooms whereas on the other floors rooms are partially renovated. We are going to renew rooms on the highest floors in winter time.
The inconsistent pressure in the bathroom is something that we are going to solve as soon as possible.
We hope to welcome you again at our hotel.
Thank you
Best regards
