“Tremendously responsive and accommodating”
Reviewed August 1, 2012

For a group of 18 (3 families, kids ranging in ages from 6-19) staying in Sitges for a week, we looked online for group tours to Monserrat, Barcelona city and a Flamenco show. While there were a variety of options to chose from, we were impressed with the consistently high ratings and reasonable prices Open Guide offered. The trips, the service, and the information provided by far exceeded our expectations. Open Guide stayed in constant contact with us leading up to our trips, providing a wealth of information as to what to expect, and were a pleasure to interact with. Rob in particular was a joy to work with -- as his easy-going demeanor, committment to excellence, and willingness to go out of his way to accommodate every need, was truly impressive. I also like supporting local and small business owners. Highly recommend Open Guide for all your touring needs!

“Barcelona, Montserrat and Wine tour in 2 days!”
Reviewed July 23, 2012

With limited time, Open Guide Tours made it happen! Rob gave us suggestions that worked out flawlessly.

Our day in Barcelona started off with a pick up at our vacation rental by Marit. She took us to the Picasso Museum first before the crowds rushed in. Since we are into photography, we were driven around Barcelona to out of the way places for some awesome views. We stopped at the Olympic Stadium for lunch that Rob had prepacked for us. We never felt rushed and saw so much! At the end of our tour, they treated us to a drink at a 5 star hotel with a panoramic view of Barcelona. What a great way to end a day! Thanks, Marit and Rob!

The next day Rob drove us to Montserrat. Prior to our arrival he played a DVD, in the car, about Montserrat's history. Rob is very people oriented and we felt like friends immediately. He is a cautious driver giving us a feeling of safety. The drive up to the mountain was breath-taking. When we were finished visiting the site, he had a prepacked lunch and drinks ready for us prior to our departure to the winery on the way back to Sitges.

The winery we visited grew grapes and produced wine. We have been to wineries before, but this one is special. The guide from the winery was great...explaining the history of this very old winery, how they raise the grapes and process them into wine.

After our winery visit, Rob dropped us off at a restaurant he suggested in Sitges and picked us up when we were ready to go back to our vacation rental.

We highly recommend Open Guide Tours!

“Always so helpful”
Reviewed July 22, 2012

Open guide group were so helpful, Rob always answered my emails and found information on horseback riding to having someone come cook for our group of twenty. I had read the reviews on tripadvisor and emailed my needs prior to going to Spain. Rob always had useful information and hooked us up with a lovely woman Olga who came and cooked for us. Her spirit was great! Rob also helped get us a taxi driver named Miquel who traveled up and down a winding hill to take many of us to the beach, airport and train station. I would recommend Open Guide Group to all, they are so helpful. Thanks Rob!

“Fantastic wine tasting afternoon”
Reviewed July 13, 2012

We had read the great reviews for the Open Guide group and were interested in visiting the wineries and tasting local wines. The car was very comfortable but Rob, our guide was the star of the show. He took time to 'tune in' to the kind of things we were interested in and was informative and good company on the drive to the wineries. We visited one that produced wine and vinegar and enjoyed being taught how to taste the wine 'like a professional'. We also visited a winery that produced cava where we spent more time drinking the wine than tasting it!

A fantastic and memorable afternoon - highly recommended.

“Winery visits and tastings”
Reviewed June 20, 2012

Let me start off by saying that this was one of the most enjoyable days of my vacation. It began at noon when my wife and I were picked up by Rob from our hotel in Barcelona. Our goal for the day was to tour 1 vineyard that produced wine and 1 vineyard that produced cava. I must say that our expectations were greatly exceeded. Knowing absolutely nothing about the different wineries in the area, we left everything in Rob's hands. He has a great relationship with a number of wineries so arranging a private tour for us was not a problem at all. His selections of vineyards were fantastic as the wines and/or cava were delicious and the staffs were informative. In addition to simply taking us from winery to winery, Rob also, gave us ample information about the towns and architecture along the drive. He even went out of his way and what was included on the itinerary, to show us the beach in Sitges. The day after the tour, he took it upon himself to drive to the post office to find out for us about rates and laws about mailing bottles of wine back home. Rob takes customer service to an entirely new level and will go above and beyond to ensure that his customers have an amazing time. All I can say is, if you use Open Guide Tours, there is no way that you will be disappointed.
