“GREAT FOOD”

The restaurant is in a lovely location and the food is great. Our only complaint is prices as we thought they were a bit expensive. We definitely recommend this restaurant anyway for all seafood lovers !!!!!

“Not coming back”
Reviewed February 9, 2014

We live in BCN, so we used to go to La Taberna del Port at least every 6 weeks or so. we been there as a couple, we ve been there with friends, we ve been there even with a large group for a conference in Sitges. but today we have visited again and something very unpleasant happened. we were 2, we wanted to have lunch but not to have a lot so we ordered one calamari to start, then special rice of the day for 2, and 2 soft drinks... well, seems the management there only takes care of the tables that order a bottle of wine or order expensive dishes (have to say prices ain't cheap there) because for starters we havent even been offered a glass of cava, when our calamari came to the table the portion was half the size of the table next to us (a couple who had order a bottle of wine AND expensive fish as mains) then when we finished lunch the table next to us was being offered at the same time a glass of cava before they decided if they would like dessert, and..... when we ordered our coffees with bayleys and asked for the bill, a chupito was not offered. It really made us feel like they treat you well depending on how much you spend so this was for sure our last time there, not only cos the quality is not even half of what it used to be BUT also cos i dont really think i like to sit in a table of a restaurant whose policy is to treat clients as per their orders. UTTERLY disgusting.

Walked past this a number of times and always busy. Frozen calamari and rice in paella dreadful . Nice looking place but keep walking, price expensive at 80€ bottle if wine and 2 courses not high standard quality

Fabulous lunch in a wonderful location. Jugs of Sangria with cava served overlooking the marina - couldn't be bettered! Returned in the evening for a lovely meal. Service very friendly.

“Most expensive bowl of rice I have ever been served”
Reviewed October 9, 2013

I visited the restaurant tonight with high expectations. The service could not be faulted and the waiter tried his best to steer us towards their catch of the day, which was salmon. Coming from Scotland we eat salmon on a regular basis so my husband and friend decided on the paella whilst I and our other friend ordered braised rice with prawn and cray fish. Both the paella and the other 2 meals were the same dish with the exception of a little extra stock. My dish of braised rice contained a huge bowl of rice with one cray fish, one prawn and 2 clams all of which were served in the shells. Having eaten all over the work I found the dishes totally unacceptable and to be charged 107 euros for two paellas, 2 braised rice with prawn and crayfish, a starter shared between four, 2 beers and a cheap rose costing 11.50 euros totally unacceptable and would steer clear of this restaurant unless you like a huge bowl of expensive rice.
