“Warm, friendly pub with a good range of meals”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

We were only looking for a light bite after work, but the welcome was warm, and the food was good. Just what we needed at the end of the day. The beetroot salmon dish was light and tasty, and we also had a humous light bite (a lot of bread) followed by a creme brûlée.
Next time we will have one of the other dishes, especially as they catered well for vegetarians.
Beer was good, and the atmosphere jovial.
Will be back!

“A Welcome Resting Place”
Reviewed August 7, 2013

We are regular if infrequent visitors - not quite frequent enough to benefit from their loyalty programme. It's an attractive gastro-pub with gastro-pub prices, but it is also a great place to sit down with friends after a long walk together in the Great Park. The food is good, the service is variable depending on how busy they are compared with how busy they expect to be. If you're resting your feet, and are not in a hurry, you normally won't care about delays.

“Great pub, good food, will be back”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

We went here for Sunday lunch after visiting Savill gardens. We all went for the roast beef, which was well cooked and tender. The veggies were fine, though the potatoes were more on the hard side rather than crispy. Service was a little slow, however we all found the staff to be friendly. We will definitely give this place another try, maybe on a week night rather than Sunday lunch time though, since the rest of the menu does look great.

“So much potential”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

We drove past after visiting Savill Gardens and thought it looked like the perfect place to stop for a pint, glass of wine and a good old pub meal. We had one drink, sat outside and left. The service was unfriendly to the point that I and 2 fellow customers felt that we were just in the way and an inconvenience to their Saturday night. It does have great potential, but they need to uplift or retrain the staff.

“Unwelcoming”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

Unfriendly, so had a drink and moved on for food, to a pub with a warmer reception.
Shame, as great location next to Windsor Great Park.
Also outside area ok but fell short of expectations, including noise from air/con/extractor unit?
