“The best mussels”
Reviewed July 17, 2012

Girona is beautiful but expensive. If you are in Girona for the day and on a budget, you can find a number of fine restaurants on or near the Placa de Indepencia. Most will have a reasonably priced menu del dia (surcharge for eating at an outdoor table). We had a very pleasant meal at Boira. Friendly waiter and excellent service. The mussels are fantastic! Also the on tap beer. Note, though, that the Vichyssoise may be too creamy for many American tastes.

“Great tapas”
Reviewed July 4, 2012

This was probably the highlight of our trip to Girona (which was mostly uneventful). We really enjoyed the tapas here at Boira. They had heavenly Iberico Ham which just completely melts in your mouth (I kept raving about it with each bite!). We also quite enjoyed the cod dip and the white anchovy with tomatoes. The least desirable was our order of fried artichoke with foie gras froth which was a bit too heavy.

“is not my favourite”
Reviewed June 24, 2012

I like better other places in Girona. In Boria, I don't like the quality of food and the final rate of bill. Usually they made set menus for foreginers, and usually are their costumers, because once you go there is not easy to come back. Rates of drinks or bread or similar made your bill expensive. I like better other choices in same square. (example: casa marieta)

“Excellent food an service”
Reviewed February 22, 2012

We ate at this restaurant on two nights - located in a corner of the main square, you can sit at a table overlooking the river below with the cathedral in the distance. Would highly recommend the good and service.

“Looks are deceptive”
Reviewed October 8, 2011

Pleasantly situated on the square, this is a bit of a tourist trap. The menu looks better than it is. We had the set menu which again suffered from the inedible fish syndrome. The hake was bland, under-cooked and a very peculiar consistency, served on a bed featuring mainly courgette which was also bland and tasteless. Yuck. Rest of the meal was only fair. Have a coffee there by all means to enjoy the square but there are better places to eat
