We have eaten here several times over the years and never been disappointed in the quality or quantity of the food. We eat at lunch time and in previous years have had to book earlier in the day as it is always full. This year, we were the only diners, and although Girona was quiet with fewer than normal tourist numbers, I do hope that the few negative reviews haven't put prospective customers off. Whilst the staff and manager could possibly be thought of as unfriendly, I feel that this is made worse by their lack of English. We had a short conversation with the waitress and lady owner, me speaking French, they speaking Catalan! We managed to communicate satisfactorily.
The menus are in several languages, so there is no difficulty in ordering. The vegetable terrine and warm goats cheese salad starters were excellent, we both had the oven baked hake, which was freshly cooked and of good size, the desserts were ok, probably bought in. Excellent wine in a 1/2 litre size, just right when one person has to drive. Good value at Eu13.95 each plus wine.
