Hotel room and surroundings impressive in this modern hotel. Breakfast was expensive as were meals. Free minibar was a bonus

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for our 5th wedding anniversary.
Firstly, the location of this hotel. It is on quite a steep hill about a 15 minute walk from the old town. This means that the hotel has fantastic views from it's terrace where we enjoyed one or two drinks. The downside is the walk up the hill which is not pleasant in the heat. Also by putting the hotel out of the way you would think they would put a pool in as there is certainly plenty of room. If a pool was added it would make the walk worthwhile.
The hotel itself is very modern, clean and tastefully furnished (if you like modern contemporary). The room was large enough for our needs and the bathroom was amazing.
For us, what really let this place down was that we requested a non-smoking room but on arrival were told that there weren't any available. The smell in the room was overpowering and really unpleasant for a couple of non-smokers.
If there had been a pool and we had got the non-smoking room we asked for then I probably would have scored this hotel 5/5.

WE stayed on two occasions - before and after a sailing course, rooms very clean tidy and functional, breakfast EXCELLENT value for money, though dinner was a little pricey. 10 to 15 min walk to city centre is fine, but uphill on the way back - bit tough after too much tapas and wine!! Would stay again.

we caught taxi up from the train station. cost about 8 euros.

the check in was surprisingly slow considering we paid online already. the lady was not quite good with giving us directions or recommendations for tourist sights or food places. very surprising considering the clientele they target. we wanted to have dinner there that night but the hotel restaurant was closed for function. there's no restaurants in the area so we had to hiked back out at night for dinner. the hotel is about 25 mins walk to the old town.

we had a standard double room w/o breakie for HK$895. pretty decent considering how new the place is with all hotel amenities. the room's really spacious with a lounge chair, carpet, english speaking tv channels and adjustable aircon dial. view was quite sad. it looks into a courtyard of stones and other rooms just opposite.

the thing that bugs me most is the bathroom. its really spacious with good basin. very pretty. but the shower area puzzles me. it is fitted with handicap grip-bars and handicap seating for showers. its really thoughtful fixtures to have around in a hospital, but in a hotel in girona that looks geared to biz ppl and tourists? and the shower area has only one glass panel to stop the water from splattering to the rest of the bathroom. so without the other glass panel, we showered VERY CAREFULLY to not get the toilet wet. but we still have to do some wiping up after showers so we dont slip and fall and kill ourselves at night. very odd design.

the lobby and terrace is as nice as everyone said it is. such a shame they didnt build a pool. would have been nice to see the view form a pool.

check out was easy and they helped us call a taxi to the airport. cost about 30 euros.

We stayed for just one night but it was perfect. it was more of a business hotel so it didn't have many amenities for tourists but rooms were lovely, modern and comfortable. Tea and pastries arrived in the late evening and were free which was great when you are arriving quite late on the ryannair flight. there was a lovely big terrace where you could take your tea and look over the night lights of girona. The room had a TV, air con, very comfy beds and a lovely bathroom. There was ample parking. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

This hotel did not disappoint me, its great value, the hotel staff were great, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, couldn’t ask for more. They provide me with some great recommendations for restaurants.

My room was large, there was free Wi-Fi in the lounge, free car parking, it's not secure, but I think its very safe.

The view from the terrace in front of the hotel was great, couldn't see it from the room, though.

The down side to the hotel is that it did not have any ambience, and as other people have said it is lacking in services. But this would NOT put me off from staying here again!

This was a very pleasant hotel quite well situated. I agree with other reviews that with such a fabulous view the rooms face inwards. could this be an attempt to get people to the terrace and thus pay the prices for the drinks?
Although room service is available there should be coffee making facilities in the room. Also ice makers should be available. In the heat the ice melts too quickly if you get it from the bar.
Of the 6 hotels we stayed in this journey, I would recommend this hotel, but with some caveats.
