“Ice cream heaven”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2013

If you are interested in El Celler de Can Roca then this is a must visit place, but even if you don't care about the michelin world, then its still worth your while stopping in at Rocambolesc for some delicious ice cream.

The shop is small but looks like Willy Wonka might have designed it. Its all candy canes and old fashioned sweet shop. You can buy either tubs or cones and they have 6 different flavours at any one time with all sorts of different topping to choose from. We had mandarin sorbet, and baked apple. Delicious. Creamy texture and great taste. I think we paid 3.50 euros each which was about the cheapest option. The more gelato and toppings you have then the more you pay.

Stop by if you get the chance, you won't be disappointed whether you're a Roca fan or not.

“A taste of Cellar de Can Roca”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2013

If you are in girona but not lucky enough to have a reservation at the Cellar De Can Roca, you can get a sense of just how delicious the desserts would be by dropping into this ice cream parlour. Just over the bridge from the old town and famous Cathedral it is tucked into a small space and well worth searching out. There are a range of tubs to take away plus cones and cups for immediate consumption. The prices were low at around euro 3 for a large cup of creamy rich ice cream lavished with a choice of organic toppings. A real treat.

“Cool”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2013

This place is the playground of Jordi Roca one of the members of the family Roca who owns the second best restaurant of the world, El Celler de Can Roca.
I went there with a couple of friends before having the dinner in the famous restaurant.
The place is decorated like a fairy tale, full with colors and candy bars. Really funny.
The staff is really helping and they speak english wich is helpful.
The formula is really simple: an house made ice cream wich you can combinate with different kind of topping, that go from the normal chocolate sauce to the marshmallows or the mandarine sauce. In all products you see the touch of a pastry chef owning 3 michelin stars, perfection and flavour.
The prices are a big higher that in a normal ice cream shop but for a bit more you are assuring to yourself that you are getting the best.
The day that we went Jordi Roca was there and we could talk with him a bit.Knowing that he is a really busy man being there says how involved he is the project.
We'll be back surely.

“Best Cool Treat in Town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 8, 2013

This place is the brainchild of Jordi Roca, of the renowned Roca brothers of El Celler de Can Roca. It is a whimsical, Wonka-esque gelateria offering amazing treats for a reasonable price. Sure it is a bit more expensive than other offers in the city, but I can guarantee that none of them have the creative toppings like Rocambolesc. The staff is incredibly helpful and speak English well. You are allowed to get three different ice creams or sorbets in a cup, but I always get just one flavor. And I usually have the staff make it with the three suggested toppings. The flavors change from time to time, but my favorites include baked apple and vanilla. If you can't afford the expensive meal at El Celler de Can Roca, this is a great way to experience some of the dessert offerings. I always recommend my guests visit this place when in Girona!
