“Great views”
Reviewed December 29, 2013

Don't miss Passeig de la Muralla if you're visiting Girona. It's hard to miss the walls - once you find them, just follow them in one direction or the other until you find a staircase to get to the top! The views are well worth the effort.

“Astonishing panoramic views from the medieval walls and towers”
Reviewed December 29, 2013

A peaceful stroll atop the high medieval walls and much higher towers offer overwhelming scenic views of the surrounding green hills and far distant mountains and great panoramic views over the city. It is a must do in Girona, something that gives you a good general glimpse into Girona and beyond.

“Even in Winter its good”
Reviewed December 23, 2013

Lots of good advice from other contributors. I would add that even in winter this walk is great. Some fantastic views of the snow capped Pyrenees framed by the cathedral.

Keep your bearings - its a bit of a rabbit warren and its easy to get a little lost - which is half the fun!

“Beautiful views from the Girona's Wall (Muralla)”
Reviewed December 7, 2013

This is a nice place to visit. All the Girona city center is marvellous. Plenty of restaurants, museums, interesting bridges, churches, a very big and nice cathedral and monuments.

“Stunning views from the old city walls”
Reviewed November 26, 2013

There are stunning views from the Girona city walls, especially towards the distant Pyrenees, which had numerous snow covered peaks when we visited.
We started near the cathedral. Just go up the steps from the cathedral courtyard through the stone arches, to reach the walls. There are several observation towers, which require a climb up a spiral staircase, and these provide even better views around the whole neighbourhood. We walked as far as the university and then left the walls to retrace our steps back towards the cathedral.
Anyone in reasonable health can walk the walls, which are safe and provided with good handrails.
Don't miss this experience when in Girona.
