Girona is a lovely small city, the cathedral is beautiful, walk along the ramparts and have lunch off the beaten track at little local restaurents up the steps on the way to the cathedral.

The Cathedral is a Girona tourist highlight, and with good reason. The structure's exterior shows off its Gothic influence and more. Once you climb the grand stairway outside, you get in good shape for visiting the many little chapels and other sites inside. The headphones deliver commentary on the numbered points of interest in the Cathedral, but some of the corresponding written captions were missing. The fabulous jewel-encrusted objects and ancient tapestry on display were the most glorious items for me. Reserve a couple of hours for touring the Cathedral. It will be worth it.

Definitely go see the tapestry of the creation. The Cathedral is worth a visit, it's a very ornate Gothic cathedral with some Romanesque features still visible. Have seen a few too many cathedrals while in Spain, so I think I was a little underwhelmed, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The opulence was a bit sickening as art and glorifying God can be much more tasteful and understated, but then ornate was all the rage in Medieval times, so if you like that, you're in for a treat!

Gorgeous church right in the middle of the city! It's up a hill so be ready for a bit of a hike. Totally worth it!

lovely little city with an elegant cathedral surrounded by eateries and bars. this is a beautiful city and its well worth reading up on the history behind it so that you know why people are drawn to the features of the building.
