Owner description: This 15th-century cathedral has the second-widest nave in the world.
Reviewed February 19, 2013

The widest Gothic nave in the world--if that matters to you. An impressive location--huge flight of stairs to climb, though you can approach it more gradually from another direction. Don't miss Charlemagne's Throne (though it isn't). Fantastic Creation Tapestry in the cathedral museum. BTW, you can't get into the cathedral or the museum without paying, unless you come during the Festival of Flowers in May (well worth a trip to Girona!), during which the cloisters are filled with floral displays and entry is free.

The claim to fame of the Girona Cathedral is that it has the widest Gothic nave in the world at 22 meters (72 feet). The cathedral itself feels quite empty, but it is worth a visit, especially on Sundays when it is free!

A fantastic and impressive Cathedral which stands out in Girona. Be prepared for the numerous stairs to get into the cathedral and there is a fee of 7 euros.
Head phones are provided which enhances this visit.
You cannot visit Girona without going to the Cathedral

No photos allowed, even non-flash. The walk through the narrow cobblestone streets to get there was more fun than the destination.

It had beautiful architecture and grounds. The front door was outstanding architecture. I got tired of the audio describing the abundant chapels. After a while I didn't care that some rich person paid for this or that chapel. I guess after seeing a number of cathedrals, the inside gets a bit boring. We all opted to stop listening half-way through and go outside and enjoy the grounds.
