“Great place, great food, great service”
Reviewed April 25, 2014

I found myself very lucky to sit down at Llevataps terrace. Non-touristic, nice and quiet corner, but still on one of the busy small streets in the old town. The lunch (menu del dia) was excellent, very well prepared, great combination of tastes. Far worth its price. For me this restaurant was one of the good discoveries of Girona. Also excellent service. For the desert my waitress did not know how to translate the jelly into english, she came back later and got the details in english. I cam highly recommend this place if you want to give your taste buds a good time.

“Outstanding”
Reviewed March 22, 2014 via mobile

We stumbled on Llevataps not quite by accident but not really by design. We had another restaurant in mind for lunch but saw this and thought it looked good so we gave it a try. Thank goodness we did. It is not big, probably 26 covers, but is bright and buzzy. We ate at the dining bar, looking out onto the street on a Saturday lunchtime and were treated to some fantastic cooking. An Amuse Bouche of a salad spring roll with a vegetable puree was followed by a plate of beautifully succulent, sweet and nutty Iberico Jamon which we shared (more than enough for two). Then my wife had Chicken ravioli with chanterelles and the chef changed the normal, fish based sauce for a meat based one because of her fish allergy. It was delicious. I had a duck breast with two spring rolls, one sweet and chocolate based and the other with lemon and ginger. Sounds mad but it worked so, so well. The duck was perfectly cooked and coated in a sauce that complemented it perfectly. We finished with a chocolate pudding that was as unusual as it gets - almost solid chocolate with salt and oil - can't explain it well but it was sensational. All washed down with a bottle of local red wine. The Maître D' was trained by the elder of the Roca brothers and it shows. If you are in Girona you have to visit this restaurant, it is outstandingly good.

“Interesting and enjoyable”
Reviewed December 11, 2013

Went here as a family and was very impressed with the whole experience. It was duing the fires festival so we enjoyed the set menu which included several starters followed by a delicious main and desert. All dishes were well presented and thoughtfully prepared which made the whole experience very pleasant. Children were well catered for.

“Brilliant tastes.”
Reviewed October 25, 2013

We were recommended here by the hotel for good tapas and like some other reviewers we were a bit confused by the menu where the prices are more like main course prices eg 14 euros. We were also a bit thrown that they weren't open to serve lunch until after two but that's probably just our lack of Spanish know how.
So! Eventually we got to eat and we loved the food. The menu is in English if you wish and the waitress is smiley and helpful but speaks no English at all.
We went back for dinner one night and again found the food outstanding. We recommend the foie gras which was out of this world, the squid and mushroom dish which comes in a collar of pastry - totally original and delicious - the slow cooked veal cheek, the suckling pig and do not miss th chocolate truffles with salt flakes with olive oil caviar. We liked the Masa Sera red wine too,
We have been here when it was empty and when it is full and it does lack atmosphere unless there is a buzz.
Price 71 euros for two (5 courses with bread, wine and water)
