This was without doubt the worst meal during our stay in Girona - and expensive too! As we were looking through the menu, we noticed that guests around us were leaving plates full of food behind. We should have acted at that point and left. My husband's starter calamari consisted of thin strips of frozen fish covered in a dense, burnt batter. My starter salad of "dried fruits" had differently sized lumps of orange which looked as if they had been sucked and chewed and then spat haphazardly onto the plate. How does fresh orange end up in mashed, dry chunks like that? The "dried fruits" in the salad were three small pieces of walnuts and half a dozen raisins all decorated by two slices of tomatoes without flesh. The seafood paella we were served is best described as boiled rice swimming in ready-made tomato sauce with one frozen prawn on top. And tasteless at that- no fish stock, no seasoning, nothing. The service was haphazard - the two waitresses had no idea what the other was doing so we were either left unattended or would receive drinks or food we hadn't ordered. Avoid this restaurant at all costs - even if it charged half the price, it would not be worth it. We had in fact been confused by the attractive looking dishes being served in the adjoining terrace, which looks as if it belongs to La Toscana - but beware, it doesn't! Two restaurants share the same stretch of street! I can't remember the name of the restaurant they belonged to though but the salads and calamari there looked great!
