“Tourist Trap- overpriced, tasteless, bad atmosphere.”
Reviewed July 21, 2011

The wait staff told us the paella would be authentic, but instead it was an overpriced, salty, spiceless tourist version. I know because I had authentic paella several times in a small town near the Costa Brava during my stay. After dealing with the waitstaff, I realized they would have told us anything to get us to eat there. I can honestly say that this was my worst experience traveling in Spain. The waitstaff is friendly at first and then they become rude and unpleasant if you ask questions.

“don't go”
Reviewed February 26, 2011

on our wedding anniversary we wanted to have a nice lunch in Gerona on the Rambla, the weather was beautiful so we could sit outside. the waiters do only speak Spanish, no English, no French, no Dutch or German .......... but that's OK with us, we managed it to order a meal. after 45 minutes of waiting we asked the waiter how long it would take before we get served; in no time there was our plate, we ordered duck and it was burned, cold and very very stiff.

other people who ordered got the wrong plates or even had to wait for half an hour for a bottle of champagne, bills were incorrect etc. etc.

if you read this; please take our advise and don't go to this restaurant. we have never had it before but this was a real disaster.

“We walked out”
Reviewed October 11, 2010

We went to Arcada on a recent trip to Girona. We walked out before
the meal - only the second time I have ever walked out of a
restaurant. L'Arcada is very touristy but has a few people eating in
it, it was in the sun and they did a range of tapas.

We sat down and got given pizza and pasta menus - no tapas. We got
some from another table. I thought I fancied pizza and we ordered
pizza and a couple of beers. The beers that arrived weren't the ones
we ordered. I told the waiter and he took them away then returned a
few seconds later, laughed and put them on the table. They weren't
cold.

We waited for our pizzas. We waited. We waited some more. My wife
went to the toilet and passed the kitchen. There were two pizza
sitting on the pass getting cold and she thought they were ours. We waited. The
pizzas arrived and hers was missing mushroom (it wasn't a difficult
order - a margarita with mushroom). We sent them back. I went to the
toilet via the pass. The chef was laughing with the waiter, I think at my wife's
expense. The new pizzas were ready. They had taken my wife's pizza,
put mushrooms on top, and put it back under the grill. I spoke to the
waiter and told him I needed a new pizza. He argued with me,
I saw the manager, and agreed I would pay for the two not-cold beers
and that we were leaving. We ate instead at the restaurant attached
to Nord 1901 - it was fantastic.

L'Arcada sucks. They tried to rip us off. Don't eat there.

“Avoidable”
Reviewed October 10, 2010

If I had to describe this restaurant with one word, I would say it’s plainly avoidable. It's cheap, yes, but the experience it isn't worth.
The bravas (a kind of Spanish fried potatoes with spicy sauce, which well cooked are delicious) are just a bunch of nearly-boiled potatoes with… pink sauce? Just weird. Don’t even think about the sandwiches, I still got the feeling they bought the bread three days before. And yes, the pasta and the pizzas are edible, but this ones are far too expensive for what it’s worth.
Besides, the service is really rude and slow, and they insist a LOT on you choosing the menu instead of a sandwich.
Definitely, not a good choice.
