“Spotlessly clean hotel with large comfortable beds”
Reviewed October 14, 2012

Large room, comfortable large bed, spotlessly clean bathroom (shower floor a bit slippery!!) and a "must" for me - good air conditioning. Also a mini bar plus tea/coffee/herbal teas in room with fresh milk when asked. Good TV and a separate radio with iPod dock.

Window looked on to an "air shaft" with a window to another bedroom in full view - but I'm not shy! Breakfast good quality - usual bread, rolls, meat and a toasted sandwich maker - nce touch.

Very friendly staff - would stay again for sure.

Room Tip: If you want a "room with a view" you need to ask!!

We stayed 4 nights in a suite in this hotel which is very close to one of the main squares of Girona. It was as big as most two bedroom flats! We had a very nice sitting room and kitchen (unused as we ate out). There is no in-house restaurant apart from breakfast but given how close we were to so many other places to eat it made no difference. I would recommend breakfast at one of the many lovely cafes which are no more than two mins walk.

The hotel is very modern and comfortable with lots of grey slate and stylish touches. There is a small but well designed pool to cool off after sight-seeing and to keep the kids on side. The staff were charming and helpful. A great place to base yourselves while exploring locally.

Spent 2 nights in this lovely hotel. It was very well located, polite helpful staff, clean and comfortable. It was very hot while we were there so we were very grateful for the small pool and courtyard. A short walk took us to all the major attractions and some amazing restaurants. We would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay here aain next time we're in Girona

Room Tip: We had an internal room so no view but very quiet

My adult son and I stayed here at the end of August. This small hotel could not be any better. Very clean and upscale. We had a very large well-appointed room on the fourth floor. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was nice. The staff here is outstanding. We asked for a recommendation for a non-touristy up-scale restaurant and one of the staff recommended a wonderful place nearby. There is a a zen-like pool area where you can relax after a busy day. The Old Town is a quick walk across the bridge. The Square is just a block away. This is a great place to enjoy a nice glass of wine and perhaps some tapas and watch the world go by while resting your tired feet.

Room Tip: Probably all the rooms are good but we did enjoy having a room on the top floor. If you do, you hav...

Spent 5 wonderful nights in Girona in the beautiful Hotel Nord 1901. This hotel is ideally located just a short walk from the Old City area where we spent almost all of our time walking through the old streets browsing shops and dining well. But back to the Hotel Nord 1901. This is easily one of the most comfortable and clean hotels we have ever stayed in. From first impressions of the modern reception area with its comfy seating to the pool area with sunbeds, breakfast terrace and on to our well appointed room with most comfortable bed, we enjoyed 5 fantastic days and nights in this accommodation. We found the staff very welcoming and friendly and always willing to help for any requests or information. Our room was cleaned every day with fresh towels and accessories supplied. We had a small balcony overlooking Nord Street but no noise from this area so a good nights sleep was assured. Breakfast is served near the swimming pool and consisted on a hot choice of scrambled eggs and bacon along with fresh juices, croissants, cheeses, pastries and breads. The coffee at breakfast was really beautiful. The cost per person was 12 euros which may appear a tad expensive but is well worth the price The amount of coffee shops and restaurants bars in this area left us spoiled for choice. A short 2 min walk takes you to Independence Square where we dined in Konig and Lizarran Restaurants We found both to be excellent. with Konig ideal for light meals and snacks and Lizarran ideal for Tapas There are a number of restaurants across the bridge from Independence Square in the Old town and we tried lots of them and food was always great. Shopping in the Old town is super with great deals in all shops while we were there. We also took the tourist train which travels through the streets of the old city which is well worth the fare of 4 euro per adult All in all Girona is a beautiful city and the Hotel Nord is the ideal location in which to have your base.

Room Tip: Book room only and enjoy breakfast at the hotel for 12 euro per person or try any of the nearby coff...

I stayed in this hotel in August for 5 nights with my husband and 7 year old daughter. We were very impressed with this hotel - very clean and situated in a quiet location. We stayed in a suite which was very spacious and included a kitchenette area. The suite comprised of 2 separate sleeping areas.

We chose this hotel because my daughter loves swimming. The outside pool was small (smaller than I thought it would be!) but big enough for her to have fun. Towels were provided and there were a few sun loungers around the pool.

The staff were always very helpful and friendly.

My only criticism of the hotel was the poor internet connection. We were provided with a password to get on the internet in our room, but the connection kept getting lost and we had to keep re-entering the password. It was free wifi though.

We didn't have breakfast as it was 12 euros per person, but instead ate in a cafe down the road.

I would totally recommend this hotel for its quiet location, lovely suites, friendly staff and the swimming pool.
