Spent 5 wonderful nights in Girona in the beautiful Hotel Nord 1901. This hotel is ideally located just a short walk from the Old City area where we spent almost all of our time walking through the old streets browsing shops and dining well. But back to the Hotel Nord 1901. This is easily one of the most comfortable and clean hotels we have ever stayed in. From first impressions of the modern reception area with its comfy seating to the pool area with sunbeds, breakfast terrace and on to our well appointed room with most comfortable bed, we enjoyed 5 fantastic days and nights in this accommodation. We found the staff very welcoming and friendly and always willing to help for any requests or information. Our room was cleaned every day with fresh towels and accessories supplied. We had a small balcony overlooking Nord Street but no noise from this area so a good nights sleep was assured. Breakfast is served near the swimming pool and consisted on a hot choice of scrambled eggs and bacon along with fresh juices, croissants, cheeses, pastries and breads. The coffee at breakfast was really beautiful. The cost per person was 12 euros which may appear a tad expensive but is well worth the price The amount of coffee shops and restaurants bars in this area left us spoiled for choice. A short 2 min walk takes you to Independence Square where we dined in Konig and Lizarran Restaurants We found both to be excellent. with Konig ideal for light meals and snacks and Lizarran ideal for Tapas There are a number of restaurants across the bridge from Independence Square in the Old town and we tried lots of them and food was always great. Shopping in the Old town is super with great deals in all shops while we were there. We also took the tourist train which travels through the streets of the old city which is well worth the fare of 4 euro per adult All in all Girona is a beautiful city and the Hotel Nord is the ideal location in which to have your base.

Room Tip: Book room only and enjoy breakfast at the hotel for 12 euro per person or try any of the nearby coffee shops

I stayed in this hotel in August for 5 nights with my husband and 7 year old daughter. We were very impressed with this hotel - very clean and situated in a quiet location. We stayed in a suite which was very spacious and included a kitchenette area. The suite comprised of 2 separate sleeping areas.

We chose this hotel because my daughter loves swimming. The outside pool was small (smaller than I thought it would be!) but big enough for her to have fun. Towels were provided and there were a few sun loungers around the pool.

The staff were always very helpful and friendly.

My only criticism of the hotel was the poor internet connection. We were provided with a password to get on the internet in our room, but the connection kept getting lost and we had to keep re-entering the password. It was free wifi though.

We didn't have breakfast as it was 12 euros per person, but instead ate in a cafe down the road.

I would totally recommend this hotel for its quiet location, lovely suites, friendly staff and the swimming pool.

We stayed for 2 nights with our 2 boys and were upgraded on check in to a really nice apartment overlooking the pool. Very spacious with excellent amenities and free wifi. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was on offer at 12 euros pp but we made good use of the self catering facilities in our kitchenette. The hotel is extremely well situated near a lovely square and just across the bridge from the old town. There is free parking about 5 minutes walk away. Highly recommended.

This is a great hotel situated right in the heart of the city but in a really quiet location - to be fair most of Girona is pretty peaceful. Stayed durig August and managed to get upgraded to one of the suites in the roof Room 4.6 which was ace. The room was hug with a kitchen and two balcony windows which looked down into the courtyard below which houses the fountai like swimming pool. Definately worth a stay and not ridiculously expensive x

Room Tip: Room 4.6 was a goody but this was an upgrade so don't know how expensive this would have been normally
