We visited Sesamo while traveling in Barcelona since we wanted to try something different! The atmosphere was simple but cozy and we were sat right away on a Sunday night. The service was great, we had both servers check on us several times.
We had the peppers, the gnocchi, the cauliflower with cilantro pesto and tahini sauce and a mushroom tart that was excellent. Our favorite was the cauliflower!
Then we did a dessert tasting that was good too, three small desserts from the menu chosen by the chef.
Overall, really solid vegetarian meal!

After sampling several vegetarian delights on offer in Barcelona, we tried out the 7 course taster menu. We were shown to a medioka at best table (always book here, it's busy) which was annoying, but the generally friendly service made up for it. The food that followed was a real treat - daring combinations and an adventurous selection of tapas dishes really impressed us throughout. It was 'chef's selection' so not necessarily what we would have chosen but not knowing what was coming next made it all the more enjoyable.

At €25 a head, with 2 drinks included, it was pricier than some local equivalents but it was well worth it.

I'll start with the good news, the baked cauliflower my friend ordered was delicious! unfortunately that's where the positive experience ended for me. Although I'm not vegan I don't eat cheese, I have a strong dislike and mild phobia of it. I ordered the gnocchi with beetroot and hazelnut sauce but was disappointed to see it covered in cheese shavings when it arrived as this had not been stated on the menu, I apologised for the confusion and asked for it to be taken away. I did not ask for the dish to be taken off the bill. Later on the English speaking server came over to tell me that he was going to take the gnocchi off the bill BUT "the chef was not very happy" and that as the menu apparently said the gnocchi was "filled" that "it might be an idea for me in the future to ask what it was filled with" just to be extra patronising he repeated this twice! I do not expect to get told off like a school child when dining out on holiday! this man was unnecessarily rude and condescending and the couple next to us actually said the whole thing was "awkward". I was so upset that we left as soon we finished our appetisers and went around the corner to a different restaurant to order a main course. If you like being made to feel totally belittled during a dining experience then this is a place for you!... and note to Mr. Sesamo - in a vegan/vegetarian restaurant "it might be an idea in the future" to add the one distinguishing ingredient between the two diets to the menu!!

Third night out third fabulous veggie meal. I am impressed with Barcelona's culinary options and as impressed with this little spot. We tried the tasting menu which had some lovely, unusual combinations. We couldn't miss out on the pumpkin pie and peanut butter bomb so we ordered extra deserts, which didn't get shared! Now we are stuffed but happy as we roll out of here.
