“NJ LOVES La Fumada”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2013

I've been back a few times. No frills, real Catalans, excellent food. Someone told me this is the birthplace of "La Bomba". Closes in late July for an extended vacation.

“Authentic and Fun”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2013

Was one of our favorite places we visited - as much for the atmosphere as for the food. Place was packed, had to stand at bar - bartender/owner was friendly and patient w/us - please was lively, fun and we enjoyed it.

“Do it like the locals!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2013

Typical hole in the wall place where locals frequent for authentic tapas, simple prepared food but super tasty! Very cheap and crowded but you'll likely to get a spot at a shared table :)
We only had three dishes, the grilled artichokes and sardines were excellent. Bombas were described as "best in Barcelona" in anotber review, but this was our first time trying it and it wasn't all that special to us, but for all we know it could just be that we're not into Bombas :)
Anyway, it was one of the experiences we keep talking about after our one week in Barcelona!

“A hidden gem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2013 via mobile

Absolutely stunning authentic tapas. A stones throw from Port Vell/the beaches/Port Olympic etc but half the price of all the other places on the waterfront.

Not very obvious from the outside. No sign but look out for the number 56. Though to be honest you'll be able to tell by the queue coming out of the door!

We arrived at 2pm and waited 30 mins for a table but it was worth waiting for. The staff were lovely and happy to make recommendations. Beer was cold, service quick and the food delicious.

It's not for everybody as quite rough and ready and be prepared to share tables with other people. However the atmosphere is vibrant and you can still have private conversations etc. We loved it.

One tip - Don't be a shrinking violet by the door. Find the waiter and get you're name on the waiting list!

If you want a real taste of Spain then look no further.
