We discovered this place in an online article written by people living in Barcelona and decided to give it a try. It supposed to be one of the best places for tapas and the best place for Bombas. You really have to know where it is to find it and most of the people eating are locals. If you are lucky you will find a table , otherwise you will have to wait in the bar. The best way to go is to take the metro to Barceloneta and then walk for 5 minutes. Menu is in Catalan (not Spanish) but the owner speaks some English and can help you a lot. Beware that the place is closed on Wednesday and I am not sure for Sunday.
You should definitely eat:
Bombas - probably the best in Barcelona (ball of mashed potatos with minced meat in the middle, fried with some mayonnaise and spicy sauce on the top)
Carxofa (fried artichokes)
Calamar (squid rings)
Ensaladilla (russian salad with egg,tuna,mayonnaise,potatoes,carrots)
Pan con Aioli (bread with aioli and mayonnaise)
On our second "visit" we had the chance to listen the two gypsies that come to the restaurant to sing with a guitar (the noise levels reach the limit but we really enjoyed it!!!).
Do not forget to drink the local cerveza Estrella (beer). For around 10 tapas and 3 beers we payed 34 euros. Excellent quality fresh seafood with excellent price, an excellent choice to enjoy food with locals.
