We were really looking forward to a meal at 'els 4 Gats' or 4 Cats. We arrived about 3 pm which is still within the accepted lunch hour in Barcelona, and told the waiter we were really hungry. He just shrugged his shoulders and handed us the menus and said 'this is what we have', sort of, 'take it or leave it'. No smile, no warmth, just a surly attitude. We ordered 2 first courses which he referred to as Tapas, but were not really, and what we got were the typical bread with tomato paste on top, and a bowl of cooked shrimp (very plain) that was so cold it had ice on it. That, plus a beer was 22 euros. It was the poorest meal we have had in Spain by far. I felt so cheated that we did not bother to order anything else. When I checked my CC bill a few days later I found that we had been billed a second time for a slightly different price. Needless to say, I am going to contest the second bill, but I would not recommend this place to anyone. The food is third rate, the service is the pits, and they tried to cheat me on top of everything.
