“Great food - great atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2012

A perfect variety of Catalan tapas dishes served in generous portions combined with a great selection of wine and just the right atmosphere for a romantic dinner. Add to that a location hidden within the maze of cobblestone streets in the Bari Gotic, and this place made for a fantastic night out for us. We got the blue cheese croquettes, chorizo in cider, and spicy ground pork, and the tomato bread. joined by the house Syrah.

“Gem in the Gothic quarter”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2012

Tricky to find but worth the effort. It is tucked away on a narrow street in the Gothic quarter. Great service by the waitress who made many suggestions for our order and appropriate portions. Mainly tapas on the menu but we enjoyed delicious ham, cheese, croquettes and stuffed clams with excellent red wine. Very cool ambience. We went here on our last night in Barcelona and enjoyed a lovely evening.

“Worth trying to find it”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 22, 2012

Okay, the Gothic Quarter has narrow meandering streets that makes many places hard to find, so this restaurant doesn't jump out. But it was so worth the search. Lovely romantic setting, the waiters were a great help, making suggestions, even recommending a 1/2 portion as they are large, delicious wine and beer, good food. It's one of those places that is an experience. So glad we found it!

“A lovely evening of food and wine.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2012

We found the street itself easy enough, but even when you do find the number 9 above the door, you still question whether or not it is the right place. Anyhow, we are really glad that we put it on our list of possible places to eat, as we had a great evening. We went about 9pm, and the place was busy'ish, mainly with couples, or groups of couples, but we didn't have any worries about taking our 7 year old. The menu is quite small, made up of mainly cold tapas, and a small number of hot tapas. Everything we had was delicious, the highlight being the chorizo in cider, the 3 of us fought over it. The waiter was really friendly and helpful, We ordered a mixed plate of meats and a mixed plate of cheeses, and he told us that he would order us 1/2 portions of each as they were very big. Also we ordered the cheese croquettes and he asked if we wanted a plate of mixed croquettes as the cheese ones were made of blue cheese and our son may prefer the ham croquettes. For cold soft drinks, they only serve water or grape juice, and the white grape juice was delicious (which has now been added to our shopping list since returning). But their wine list is big, especially reds, so its worth seeking out this place for that alone. The whole bill came to about 50 euros which is such good value for the high value of drink, food and service we got. Well worth visiting.

“Very good but yes, it's hard to find!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2012

Having read reviews which said it's hard to find, we went (from our hotel 5 minutes walk away) with a little map drawn after consulting googlemaps, thinking you'd have to be stupid not to find it. And we walked right past it! On a second pass, we saw the sign over the door, which is not lit until the restaurant opens about 8.30. This was still before 8, so unlit. We went back at 8.30 and by 9 it was full. It's got a lovely atmosphere, the service is good, the tapas are very good and there is a good choice of wines. It IS worth making the effort to find.
