Description: The quality and elegance of both the service and the tempting dishes on the menu are what make this diverse restaurant stand out. Noti is a stylish treat for the senses. Gold panels, red upholstery, low lighting and jazz inspired tunes create a powerful atmosphere. Elena Barta and Christian Crespin offer you a modern menu which has been inspired by the simplicity of classical cooking. Christian Crespin, a French chef established in Catalonia, believes that lunch and dinner should be multi-sensory experiences. His extraordinary creations never fail to surprise! Choose from dishes such as duck foie gras with avocados, tenderloin beef fillet with Asian spices and potato, smoky chunks of seared tuna, and a succulent lamb brochette with spicy couscous and spring vegetables.

“Great for a night out. Nice food. Great ambience.”
Reviewed October 31, 2010

Just back from a night at Noti. We really enjoyed it. It wasn't packed due to it being a long weekend in BCN and a lot of locals had gone away. However, food was very good although the vegetarian dish needed some potatoes or something more substantial with it. Rather pricey for a few vegetables. Nice bar for just having cocktails if you don't want to dine. Someone had their bag stolen from their table whilst we were there. Not the restaurants fault but thought I would add it in as during a three night stay we had people near us twice have their bags stolen. Beware in Barcelona. It is lovely but full of thieves!!!

“Brilliant - MUST GO!”
Reviewed June 21, 2010

I have been putting off using Wallpaper guides in the past for restaurant recommendations as I tend to think t hey list places that
are more stylish than substantial and I guess that’s fair enough - (I should probably just buy a Michelin guide if I want pure food recommendations!). However, against my better judgement we booked Noti for dinner on Saturday night - and what a fortuitous chance we took. The restaurant was aesthetically very pleasing - having been an old Newspaper HQ, it has been refurbished in reds and vivid pinks, and mirrors make the room spacious, with a certain Art Deco/1970s vibe. The tables are brilliantly well spaced, so often in London the tables are so close that you might as well be sitting on the lap of the next door diner, but no danger of that here., there are great circular tables with velvet banquettes which are perfect for small groups (maybe too big for 2, but there are other tables which would be perfect for a date, especially given the intimate lighting and luxe interior). The service was without fault, the female Maitre d' was absolutely charming, perhaps it was because we were there late and the restaurant was quieter than it would be at first sitting, but she did absolutely everything within her power to make our experience enjoyable. We ordered wine by the glass and she brought over both bottles first to taste them, she wrote down alll the ingredients in the tuna ceviche sauce - which was absolutely delicious (more on that later)… Moreover she seemed to genuinely care about the venure, and have a brilliant working knowledge of the menu and the ingredients, it made me realise how rarely you get this in other places and how much it improves a place when staff seem genuinely involved and care about more than just when their shift ends. The food itself which could be described as modern european, was absolutely delicious. we started with tuna Ceviche and the foie gras terrine which was out of this world the latter was combined with a kiwi/walnut chutney which was delicious and a novel take on an old classic, and then followed by honey glazed rack of lamb for me (delicious) and fillet steak with Foie gras for my fellow diners (slight food envy!). We followed up with three puddings which were all delicious, the lemon crème brulee being a slight misnomer (and more like a lemon meringue pie), being a bit too tart for our liking. All in all though - brilliant - well executed, and delicious.
The only place this thing is lacking is a Michelin Star but there again that would only make it more popular and likely impossible to get a table. It also often instills a sense of complacency in places which this place definitely doesn’t have - it tries super hard to impress on every level, but not too hard. I will definitely be going back!

“To be avoided”
Reviewed April 23, 2010

To be avoided. We had 'menu de dia' on S.Jordi and were shocked by the poor service and the treatment. Because we spoke English NOTI staff thought we were tourists and decided that we werent repeat customers and didnt have to treat us respectfully. The staff removed our plates before we finished, the salad had to be returned as it was laden with onions (not mentioned on the menu) and the 'entrecote' arrived drowned in cheese sauce. When asked to replace the entrecote, we were told that we had to PAY for another one. Their explanation was that the food is always prepared in the same way and that if we were regular clients we would know. We left without finishing our main course or desert. Tried to charge us the full amount. Have lived here for ten yrs and have become accustomed to 'service with a sneer' but this.... It was a disgrace!

“Nice looking place, rather empty on Saturday night - food nothing special”
Reviewed October 5, 2009

We like nice restaurants not for the ambiance but for the food. This place looks great, very lounge like and we thought it would be a perfect fit for a Saturday night....but it was a let down. Place was 75% full, but large tables were filled with tables for 2...which was really surprising given it was 10:30 on Saturday night.

Food was average at best. Eggplant appetizer was pretty good. Fish soup had a nice broth but lacked anything in it to break up the texture. Lamp chop special was average, meat was cooked well but lacked any sauce for the extra accent. Wife's chinese inspired wok duck dish was the worst meal of the bunch.

Not cheap, but given the lounge feel, not too bad. If this place was crowded and fun, it would help with the average food.

“One of the best in Barcelona”
Reviewed April 5, 2009

I went there with my girlfriend, summer 2008. We were not hungry so we decided to eat a first-course only, but after tasting it, we ordered a second and even dessert. The taste was amazing, and in my opinion, it is one of the best places to eat in Barcelona, especially because of the good prices. I have never experienced such a standard for that price. 2 people, 3 dishes each + wine = about $150.
