“Let down by poor service”
Reviewed August 1, 2013 via mobile

We were enticed into this restaurant by the friendly, captivating waiter. We sat outside which was beautiful and enjoyed that they were quiet early in the night. The waiter helped select a great wine and the food was good. However for some reason the waiter changed halfway through our meal. The second waiter did not speak, was slow to clear plates and seemed to procrastinate a lot. He certainly did not try to sell us dessert or more wine, therefore we chose to leave. When we asked for the bill he took a long time to complete this task (the restaurant was still quiet!) and did not thank us or bid us goodbye. Disappointing.

“Nice, local, cosy”
Reviewed May 26, 2013

Dropped in for a light supper in the neighbourhood - and we were not disappointed.
The place seems small from the outside but turned out to be actually quite large - with a busy and bustling type of atmosphere.
The waiters were not particularly busy though, so the service was a bit average actually.
The food was excellent and it is prepared (grilled) in a kitchen, situated behind a very long bare where you can evaluate all the produce. Adds a credible spice to the restaurant.
The platter with Catalan cured meats and cheeses is highly recommendable

“Kids friendly”
Reviewed April 27, 2013 via mobile

Went here 2 nights in a row: first night because it was close to our hotel, second night because they took such great care of our children, ages 3 & 1. Service was very good, except for one waiter who was a bit forgetful (can't give a perfect 5 stars). Food was very good and the Sangria was dangerously good. They specialize in grilled items and the variety of meat was delicious, but small, but equal to the price, around ?8.

“Catalan Farmhouse Style with a Smile”
Reviewed March 8, 2013

This can be cheap and cheerful with only one main course costing more than about 13 euros and the house Rioja being about 8 euros per bottle (also available by the glass or a couple of different sizes of carafe). A good selection of tapas available, as well as starters, mains and desserts. Salads are substantial and good value.

A word of warning on the fish and meat - it tends to be barbecued and overcooked for me but they do give a lot of care and attention to the Galician Fillet steak, which is cooked how you ask.

Not a fine dining experience to while away the whole evening but good, wholesome food. Popular with the locals as well as visitors.

“Microwave Tapas?”
Reviewed January 31, 2013

Billed as Cataluyn cooking, well if they nuked everything from all this years ago and pre packed food then yeah thats the place.

Our waiter obviously had somewhere to go as he wasnt really interested in us, took our order with a huff, then told my wife its going to be 20 mins for the rissotto as we cook it fresh, no problems.

Within 5 mins we both heard two bleeps and then our starters arrived, dumped on the table and he just flounced off.

Main course was pigs trotters, well the pig must have died of a fat related disease as they were disgusting and my wifes cheese plate was just as bad.

Was going to complain but instead I thought I would let everyone know instead.

Dont go, if you do you cant say you were not warned, its really that bad!
