Description: The Carpe Diem Lounge Club occupies a privileged spot on the sea front on the Paseo Marítimo de la Barceloneta. Carpe Diem was totally refurbished in 2009 with sophisticated Arab-inspired Bali influences and giant Buddhas that endow the room with a certain spirituality while making it highly original setting. The restaurant offers a fusion menu that successfully combines Spanish dishes based on first-class Mediterranean ingredients with oriental-inspired and complex flavours. As the evening progresses cocktails and music take over, allowing diners to enjoy themselves into the early hours without having to venture further a field. Clients also have the option of dining in private areas or lounges decked out with Balinese beds. Carpe Diem offers an appealing combination of fusion cuisine with a fun location to enjoy after-dinner drinks.

We went there after dinner (but i have been told that also the restaurant is very good although it is a bit expensive) and we absolutely have fallen in love with this place!!! Beautiful music, good people and a wonderful view on the beach. Oh and i forgot.. the entry is free!!! :)

A lovely welcome on a warm day! The beachfront is the view and the people watching if you are at the front is great!
Food was lovely and Sangria was great.. Then we went inside to the loo.. Even more stunning interior and I could imagine the evening atmosphere is even better! Lovely place!!!!! Worth a visit!!!!!!

When in Barcelona this place is well worth a visit. It is more expensive than some but the ambience and setting are just great. Fabulous menu and wine list. Sitting outside in the sunshine a stones throw from the beach is just lovely. There are sofas to relax and have a drink on or of course a table if you prefer. Its a fun place to go to at night when it becomes a club, so best to go during the day if you have children. Having said that it is more of a grown up place. Have been lots of times and always go when in Barcelona. Staff are good and friendly too. Can find no reason to complain at all !

5-stars for atmosphere and music. 3-4 stars for food quality and quantity. 2-3 stars for the waiters who do their job with just-enough mechanical efficiency, as if in a hurry just to get through the night - without any warmth, and without communicating or engaging with their customers in any way. Sitting on the covered terrace on an early March evening, there was a very cold darught of air blowing from below through the wooden floor decking - which seemed to add to the cold prsonality of the waiting staff.
