Thumb up for this B&B!!I searched a lot a rather cheap accommodation for a few days in Barcelona, but the locals know very well the touristic value of the town and prices are high. Finally I fortunately found Padilla, which offers a lot for a modest fee. As a matter of fact, at its category (room with shared bathroom), Padilla is by far the best and not only because of the money. What it offers: a semi-central position, near Sagrada Familia (allowed me to see most of the town by foot), access at a completely utilized kitchen (a major plus when you are a rather picky vegetarian like me…several supermarkets are very close), breakfast (basic, but you can also make a coffee or a tea whenever you want during the day), Wi-Fi. Sincerely, I think I was offered more than I paid for. They even have some oil and vinegar in a drawer in the kitchen or a little detergent for your basic laundry in the bathroom! For the rest, the B&B is cleaned daily and every other kind of problem (noise, or eventual dirt left behind) is only due to the other guests. However, in order to sleep well it is better to have a nice pair of ear ploughs, just in case…
Rooms are spacious enough, single rooms have windows facing an interior courtyard with vegetation and are rather silent. The person in charge, Bernat, is available for different problems, you can contact him whenever you want easily. Overall, it is a place that offered me the possibility to visit a wonderful town, without risking bankruptcy! If ever I’ll be back, without any doubt I’ll choose Padilla again.

Room Tip: For single rooms, Batlo is more quiet..

If you want a reasonable place to stay with a full kitchen (supermarket is just next door) in a great location - stay here! Kitchen had all utensils, microwave, full refrigerator and a stove/oven. It was nice not to have to find a place to eat every day. Breakfast is always available with fresh juices, coffee/tea, bread, muffins, and condiments. In a great location very close to the metro. Bakery, fruit and fresh fish market are just across the street. Anna was fantastic - made us feel so welcomed and was helpful giving us information about Padilla and the area.

Room Tip: LArgest rooms - Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell ros

If you want to live in one of those finely built downtown flats, blend with the locals and stop being a tourist, then this is the right choise. The BB is located right opposite Sagrada Familia. Can you think of a better place? Alex was really friendly and showed us around upon our arrival. She even recommended us some cool places too. Breakfast is fine, the place is really clean and nicely decorated with a spacious living room, free wifi and maps. Bathroom and shower with hot water were always available, never had to wait. Frankly I cannot think of anything bad at all. I would definately recommend it and am pretty sure next time I visit Barcelona I will opt for this BB again and again and again!

Dear friend,

First of all thank you very much for your review. It is always good to know our guests impressions and commentaries, they are always welcome!

Regarding your review, we are deeply sorry you didn’t find the kind of place you were expecting. Despite our place is cleaned daily and almost every day our managers are there to check the house, it has been worked always without innkeeper, allowing our guests to feel more comfortable without the permanent control of a supervisor.

Nowadays we have a 24h telephone number where you can reach us in case of emergency and as soon as we check our mails in the morning we try to answer it and solve it as fast as we can.

Again we are sorry for the misunderstood, as we are not an hostel, but a Guest House.

Thank you again for your visit and review!

Best Regards,

Bernat.
