This was our first visit to Barcelona and the Patio had been recommended by a friend. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this great city and the quiet, comfortable accommodation at the Patio. The Patio is well located and considering it is in the centre of Barcelona, very quiet.
Liz and Tony were extremely helpful in guiding us to good eating places and providing information on what to see and how to get there. the little extra touches were much appreciated.
Hopefully we will return to Barcelona one day we would certainly stay at the Patio again.

We just got back from our stay at the Patio and we were very happy with our stay. It was a pretty easy walk from the train station, in a fairly central, quiet part of town. Liz was very welcoming- quick to get us oriented and put a glass of wine in our hands. She gave us good recommendations for value dining in the area and made some suggestions for things to do on our first afternoon in town.

The room itself was pretty spacious, very homey and comfortable. It was great to have peace and quiet and the kind of room you could really sleep well in- cool with a great ceiling fan. We shared a bathroom with another couple but barely ran into them ever, so no issues there. Everything was very clean and comfortable, and there's a metro stop right out front. We had a picnic on the roof top patio, which was a nice little escape from trying to hunt down a good restaurant one night. And when we needed a ride to the airport at 4am, Tony was there for us (for a charge, but it was someone we knew wouldn't run up the meter on us tourists...).

Overall a great spot for a cozy stay in a hectic, beautiful city.

We went to Pamplona for the festival and decided to do Barcelona last minute on the way home. Liz stayed up till almost 11pm to meet us and take us over to The Flat. Liz not only helped us find dinner at the late hour... she walked us over and helped us order what was by far the best meal we had in Spain! We were 5 people and could have very comfortably fit 6. The kitchen was fully stocked with basics and we were able to go to the market on Las Ramblas and make numerous meals throughout our stay. Liz provided maps and directions everywhere as well as making tons of guide books at your disposal. The Flat is located around the corner from The Patio making it about 3 blocks from the metro. If you take the train into town the stop is exactly one from the station using the L5 Blue Line. Just a note if you go out at night the metro is open much later on the weekend and getting a cab by the beach is extremely difficult. Overall, the Flat was great but Liz & Tony going out of their way truly made our experience at The Patio. I would highly recommend any of their accommodations.

We were arriving late at night and Tony was waiting for us out in the street and was worried we had got lost. It felt like we were coming home to friends at once.
The patio is a very cosy, quiet and well located little house. It is a place we enjoyed to come back to after a day out in town. We would relax and have a drink on the terrace before going out for the evening.
What more could we expect?

I have just spent 3 weeks travelling in Spain and this was my favourite B&B. If you are looking for a tastefully decorated B&B with really comfortable beds I recommend The Patio. Great location. Easy to get to the airport. Excellent value. Highly recommended.

We stayed 4 nights at The Flat, also owned/run by Liz, as the Patio was booked. 1930s building with considerable charm, small but convenient "flat" consisting of dining room, 3 bedrooms (we only used one), small kitchen, bathroom, storage room. Liz and her husband very helpful and welcoming. Somewhat disorganized, though--we had asked for a hair dryer in advance but none was in the flat and so had to walk the 2 blocks to The Patio to get one. Had received no instructions on how to get into the building where the Patio was, or which apartment to ring for so ended up going up 5 flights and knocking on the wrong door. Nice lady came downstairs with me and took me directly back to the Patio. Also--cooktop didn't work and so had to walk back to The Patio for instructions on that (there was a separate switch to flip to turn it on).

No air conditioning, but the fans are helpful. Very noisy fans when on any speed but low. Liked the spaciousness of having several rooms and the convenience and cost-savings of being able to buy food and cook it. Well stocked with pans, dishes, etc. It bothered me that the floors were a bit dirty--especially in the kitchen. But overall a good place , convenient to metro stops, and would stay there again.
