Went to Kibuka in C/Goya last night and to my surprise they have changed their opening hours to "open all day", which may help avoid the usual early evening crush mentioned in my last report. Also since my last report we have visited several other Japanese restaurants in BCN (partly on recommendations from other TA contributors), but honestly still prefer Kibuka for its overall combination of consistently good food and wine quality, ambience, and value for money. Critically, it passes our Agedashi Tofu Test, and the veggie Gyosas are excellent too. Best of all though are still the makis, sashimi and nigiris. Remember though the place is small and, when full, noisy, and dishes arrive in random order, so will not be to everyone´s taste. It remains amazingly popular however, and it will be interesting to see how their new opening hours policy works out.
