My wife and I ate here one night and really enjoyed it, though we were a bit jealous of the groups at the surrounding tables ordering so much variety from the menu. So, we came back a few nights later with 7 other friends and family. Yum and fun. The grilled vegetable platter comes served with a slab of chevre that you smash into the warm veggies so it melts into the balsamic to make a really rich sauce. The calcots (spring onions) are a specialty. They arrive piled high on a platter, right off the wood grill. You peel them back (like roasted corn husks) to get to the tender insides. Everything we had was really good (except the cheesecake have the flan instead). Great decor from the Catalan countryside makes it very cozy.

We went to El Glop on Carrer de Casp. It was a let down after some truly wonderful eating experiences. First there was the problem of the menus - we were given menus with different dishes on them which caused confusion when ordering. The service was average to verging on the off hand. The food was OK but did not encourage us to try a pudding. Would not go back
We also ate at -
Casa Alphonsos –On Roger de Lluria, a tapas restaurant and really good place to eat in terms of food, service, and with local atmosphere. It was so good we went back
Citrus –near Manzana de la Discordia, a modern restaurant that served food that leant towards nouvelle cuisine – a contrast to the tapas bars. Very good service, and very good food, Atmosphere was that of a trendy restaurant
O’ Gracia in Placa de la Revolution in Gracia. We accessed it by metro. A little, unpretentious restaurant. We went for the set lunch (three courses and a jug of wine for E12.90) and all of it was wonderful. Full of locals.
Cervantes in the Bari Gothic. Only open at lunch time. 11 euros for the three courses and a bottle of beer. Feels very authentic with students and locals. Really enjoyed it.
Petit Boqueria – off La Rambla. Would not recommend

I went here yesterday evening with three friends and we were all very impressed. I had the 500g navarra steak, cooked to perfection. It just melted in my mouth with the flavours exploding on my tongue and easily one of the best steaks I have ever had! I had sangria to drink and it was the best sangria I tasted over the four days I was there. However it was incredibly powerful and after half a litre and my meal I was still tipsy!! I will definitely be returning when I'm back in Barcelona.

Got there with a friend famished, and ordered black rice paella and steak navarre.
Steak was really great, not too salty, not too over done and piping hot.
Black rice paella was great too. The rice was just done right, and the cuttlefish in it was so soft!!

Went there alone the next day and tried the seafood paella, and that was just as good.

That they give you great paella for 1 person is also a bonus for solo travellers, as many of the restaurants won't serve paella for less than 2 persons, and if they do serve for 1 person it usually isn't the greatest quality.

Price was decent too, so highly recommended.
