“Excellent Celebration”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

A good experience from beginning to end. Reservation made by internet, and the restaurant confirmed by telephone. Situated in a residential area, away from the crowded tourist centre (although parking not easy). Friently welcome; small but comfortable and not noisy. Quick attention; take the maitre d's proposed menu, or choose from a good selection. The food proposed was good, sufficient but not heavy. I have eaten in China, and it was like a good restaurant in that country, except that the wine list was of course far better in selection and value.

“Not worth it at all”
Reviewed December 8, 2012

We went to there for my birthday. As a Chinese person I really feel a shame and wondering why this place can be so farmhouse and high ranking. The taste of food is fine, but really nothing special.maybe because the majority of Chinese resturante in barcelona are very poor, so they just have to offer normal Chinese food at extreme price, then they can cheat the customer, but not a Chinese customer. If you sell a small dish of very very simply fried spinach for nine euro , a half mango for six euro ,you have to except your clients are dummies. .. I will never go back there again. People in general really think the most ripped off price is the best .... Not me

“If you like Chineese food, don't miss it”
Reviewed January 22, 2012

I have tryed chineese food arlund the world and this restaurant is a surprise. A first generation chineese/catalans that cook like the angels and make you feel always at home. Try their noodles with truffle, their Beiging duck, curry chicken.... All is better than ever.

“NEED TO GO THERE !!!! SHANGHAI RANKS AMONGST THE BEST !!!!”
Reviewed September 15, 2011

Be sure to ask to go to the Shanghai on calle Bisbe Sevilla, number 48. Some of our friends were sent, apparently, to the wrong one, with the same name !!. This is a resturant that will provide you with the most pleasant experience and, like us, you will visit it each time you are in Barcelona. This was our third trip in as many years and it keeps getting better !! Jose Maria, will make every effort to make you feel at home, a rarity nowadays for a restaurant of this level. Be sure to ask for Pekin Duck, the house specialty. This restaurant is a bit distant from the busy center of Barcelona, but well worth it. It is easy accessible by car (parking nearby) or taxi. A MUST IN BARCELONA if you like Asian cuisine.

“happy belly”
Reviewed March 29, 2010

chinese food is often though of as, and normally is the cheap option in barna. this classy resturant though is a bit special - pricey but the difference is staggering, the flavours stand out, fresh ingredients, decent portion size and menu options. top notch service.
