A quirky little place, perfect for a delicious tapas lunch. It IS well known and listed in every guide book but justifiably so. The food is freshly prepared to order and there is great selection of wine. Loved all the montaditos we tried. Probably not great for dinner as there is no seating, but great for lunch or pre-dinner drinks. A must-do in Barcelona!

We decided to come here for our last meal in Barcelona and weren't disappointed. The restaurant is tiny and the first challenge is to get into the place. We eventually got a table (to stand around) right in the middle. With so many people crammed into such as small space, the atmosphere is very lively and sociable.

The place seems mainly to attract tourists which I think has had an adverse effect on the service which was certainly not with a smile. However when you do eventually get served the montaditos (seafood etc. on bread), all of this ceases to matter as they are absolutely delicious. If you like seafood try the mussels, prawns or salmon (as photographed).

Overall this is an experience which you won't get anywhere else. Go for it!

I took a walk down the hill from Montjuic to refuel at this traditional wine and tapas bar, stepped inside.and was sucked into the hustle and bustle of the place patronised as it is by a constant ebb and flow of locals and tourists alike. I suggest you do the same. Its very small and standing room only, so not for the shy or the genteel, but it is family-run, friendly and they serve a variety of good local wines from the Penedes. Try a glass of muscat with the salt cod baby broad beans. I don't agree that it's expensive. I had several dishes, two glasses of wine (cava and muscat) and the bill was 18 Euros. I left a tip, and walked back up the steep hill to Montjuic pleasantly re-energised. Hills or no hills, it vaut le detour.

We'd been to Quimet & Quimet a couple of years ago. It does seem to have gone up in price a bit - for 2 people it was about 50 euros to leave full and tipsy which we thought was still pretty good value.

It's hectic, you can't sit down, but it's definitely one of our favourite places - memorable and delicious. Staff speak some English so you can ask questions about the ingredients you can see them preparing on the counter.

Vermouth and Cava on tap, as well as their own brewed beer which is dark and malty.

If you want to make sure you get a good spot at the counter, arrive as soon after 7pm as you can bear to.

Excellent tapas, the salmon is great. It's a small but cosy place. Don't rate it 5stars because it's overpriced due to the tourists invasion and few locals.
