We had the pleasure of eating twice in 2 days at this tucked-away little treasure in old Barcelona. The restaurant is indeeed cozy, and the ham is outstanding, though a bit pricey. Don't expect the waiters to treat you with any warmth, however they are professional. The food is excellent, you can't go wrong ordering the iberia ham (either the standard ham or the reserva), and the catalan cheeses are wonderful. The rioja by the glass was meaty and stood up to the cheeses well. if i return to Barcelona I will definitely seek this place again.

We've been there twice in only 2 days. The ham is a bit expensive but really tasty.
Their tomato/goat salad also really good.
For the wine, I recommend the Rioja reserva.

Stumbled upon this place in el born and couldn't have been happier. Amazing wine, cheese plates, jamon bellota, make your own pan con tomate, and other tapas. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting a long, relaxing dinner in the heart of Barcelona.

I highly recommend this restaurant-it is on a small street in the Born section of Barcelona. It is a charming restaurant with wine lining the walls. The food and wine were delicious and the service was good. Lots of different types of food to choose from. My son had a large salad while my husband and I feasted on more traditional tapas. Traditional Catalan bread is served but a bit more fun because you cut the garlic and tomatoes yourself and spread them on. Call them and make a reservation (we called just a few hours before) because they were turning a lot of people away.

Lived in Barcelona & Bodega La Tinaja was one of our most favourite restaurants. Tucked away in the corner of El Born it is a wonderful place, this converted wine cellar is very rustic and so appealing. The staff are knowledgeable, attentive, and welcoming. There's always a great wine recommendation and the tapas are unique. We always enjoy a great evening there whenever we return to Barcelona. Reservations are recommended but they won't kick you out when you're done.
