Me and my girlfriend went to picasso musuem and were disappointed it was closed, so decided to stop by this place, it was completely packed. Decided to wing it, sat down after a bit of wait. Initial impression was bewilderment since there was no menu with no price mentioned anywhere!
Decided to order few tapas and champaigne. I was alarmed when the couple sitting next to us from Germany asked how much it is to order extra food, the guy kept on saying "dont worry we bring out" and left to grab the food without them ordering it. When he came back with the food, they wanted house wine refill and asked the price, he again dodged the question. I thought maybe he didnt understand their English. The girl server also was passing by and they asked her the price, and she said dont worry, just get the food. I immediately realized it is a place of scam. It is very sad that such a cozy and cute place flourishes by taking advantage of ignorant tourists who waltz in and get hit with high prices.
Fortunately my bill was affordable since i ordered few items ($30 euros for 3 tapas and one wine). Honestly, the quality of food was not great, tuna felt like it was out of the can without any additional stuff... The location and experience was good... Expect to wait looong time to get food and to get bill.

We visited this place many times before because we liked it so much for the friendly waiters and wonderful atmosphere. However, it's great to keep the place authentic, but sometimes one must think about one's health and update the bar. One thing that's absolutely lacking is airconditioning: of the last times we visited the place in summer, every single time I had to get out or otherwise I'd literally faint. The heat is also not improving the mood of the waiters which are clearly suffering from the temperature. Otherwise, I still love it!

A friend recommended us this place so we went. It was around 3:30 on a Friday afternoon and the place was packed, we thought there was no room to sit but some how we managed to have a seat squeezed between the waitresses way to the kitchen and other people eating. Still, with all the buzz and noise Sanay, our waitress was amazing plus a really good sales girl. She just kept suggesting tapas (bread with tomato, prosciutto, artichokes, tuna steak, tortilla española or Spanish omelet) plus red wine, plus a caña (beer), plus a couple of claras (beer+lemon soda), plus desset and coffee. The bill was not cheap but for sure the it was the best meal of the trip and again, the service was outstanding despite how crowed it was

We stayed in Barcelona for 5 days and ate out some 10 times. And this place came at the top of our experience.

This more traditional tapas place is just great if you want to mix with locals, visitors, young and old, really any sort of people. Atmosphere is just overwhelming as communication between waiters and bar staff is done by shouting over the crowd of guests.

So if you feel like a dinner in an absolutely nonpretentious, non touristy, rough and loud tapas place, I highly recommend it.

We dropped by after checking out the Picassa Museum and before dinner. Honestly the food and drink and atmosphere blew our dinner away! The tapas were impressively tasty, the scene was fun and lively, and the cava tasty. Highly recommend checking it out.
