“Best Tapas and Cava of our Trip”
Reviewed July 3, 2013

This was a great find! Had a great plate of anchovies (I know, it's an acquired taste), a wonderful Spanish omelette (small, not a meal as it sounds), a potato dish, some stuffed olives and stuffed peppers, along with a divine cava. Sooooo good, and such great ambience. Highly recommend that you stop in to El Xampanyet and check it out!

“Loved it!”
Reviewed July 2, 2013

We were walking around Born district and stumbled onto this gem. Went in for una cana. Ended up having the waitress serve us a bit of 'everything' as someone else posted. Definitely way too much food for the two of us, more than we wanted to spend, but everything was delicious. Went back the next night. Restaurant was just as packed. Ended up ordering pinxtos a la carte this time. Wish we could have gone back on our last night. So much fun!

“Great atoms & cava”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

Great food and best cava we had on the whole trip. As it was our first night and we probably looked suitably confused we ended up going along with our waitress’s suggestion that we had a bit of ‘everything’! Combination of that plus a whole lot of alcohol resulted in us spending c. 70e, not bad but we probably should have been more selective! Great way to introduce yourself to Barcelona.

“Good but pricey”

Wonderful food, drink, and atmosphere. There is no menu, so I think that servers charge you what they think they can get. But still recommended.

“Brilliant Tapas, unforgettable atmosphere!”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

Our discover walks tour guide recommended this place on a tour of the gothic quarter. So after a long day of walking, we made our way back to this place. It was by far the best choice of our trip!

It was very crowded, even by 8.30-9pm, but we went to the bar to ask one of the english-speaking waitresses to help us. She guided us through, as we were pretty happy to try everything... starting with fish and vegetarian tapas ---onto iberian hams and the catalan tomato bread, then cheese and nuts to finish.

The cavas, or famed spanish sparkling, went down very smoothly. With a bottle of cavas between us, and enough food to make two very hungry travellers burst... it cost us just 25euro each.

We had a wonderful evening at this place. The service was truly spot on, it was definitely one of our highlights of 10 days in Spain and will recommend it to friends travelling to Barcelona as a must-eat place.
