Alkimia is magical. The service, food and ambience are wonderful, and the combinations of flavors, textures, scents and colors marvelous. Prior to last night I ate here seven years ago and the experience was even better than I remembered. A fantastic evening!

I'm going to Alkimia since many years. The food is every time better and better. It s a very good restaurant "high classe" in Barcelona. The current menu is varied, probably too much in quantity, just one fish is enough and probably a dessert based on fruits could be better. The unique improvement could be the bread that could be smaller and brown bread. The choice of wines and prices are excellent. We recommend to discover this gastronomic restaurant. Service is accurated !

In our meals here dishes oscillated between almost sublime to messy with clashing flavours.

Same story with service, which varies dramatically in quality according to who's taking care (or not) of you.

All in all, considering it has a Michelin star and the prices and the Barcelona standards, a bit below par.

Great ingredients, thoughtfully prepared, and compared with its peer group, a good value. It wasn't an otherworldly experience, but we could not complain about a single dish we were served (such criticism, comes naturally to me, some might even call it a gift.) So i suppose this is a whole hearted recommendation. Certainly this is not one of those restaurants (Mugaritz comes to mind) where a table can be completely divided about the experience. If you want a good atmosphere, non-stuffy service, and a small selection of fantastic dishes, put this on your list.

Outstanding service! The wine list was not overpriced and had outstanding choices representative of the excellent wines found in the Catalunya. The chef will create some exhilarating versions of local standards, a true alchemist. He definitely achieves a thousand flavors from each meal. Would definitely recommend to any friend!!!
