We had a lovely dinner here. It was a little more upscale than we usually do and more a dinner place than tapas which I prefer. But it was very good. It is indoors only on a small street so it's very quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of the gothic quarter.

One does not expect the best when one is eating in a touristy area and Agut is in a narrow alley not far fro La Rambla. However the menu looked encouraging so we gave it a try. They have many Catalan specialities and the fish stew looked good but because of allergies to mussels we did not try it. The starters, one vegetarian and one meat, were decent if unexciting. The main courses were the problem. One was stuffed guinea fowl which sounded good but turned out to be very bland. We cook that bird quite often and this boned and rolled version had very little taste. It was fully stuffed but the stuffing had very little flavour and we could not tell what it was made from. The other main dish was lamb and we asked for it rare emphasising the "blue". When it turned up it was well-done but the other problem was that it was incredibly tough. The steak knives provided could not cut though it. Frankly it was inedible. They offered to replace it but by that stage we were not willing to gamble on another dish so we asked them to take it off the bill which they did without demur.

On a positive note the dining room while dark is pleasant with plenty of space. The wine list was good and we had an excellent mid-price wine with the meal. The staff were pleasant enough but were not sufficiently concerned that we had not enjoyed either main course. The guinea fowl may be a question of taste but the lamb was obviously unfit to be served. We expressed our views quietly and without fuss but there was a certain frostiness when we left even though we left a normal tip.

Stumbled into this place randomly, not expecting much in the tourist center, but the food, service and atmosphere were all top notch. Friendly, great menu, would repeat.

Excellent service, incredible fish stew, Creme Catalan to die for. This seemed to be authentic Catalan cuisine and was one of my favourite lunches in my week in Barcelona.

We went here on the recommendation of Tripadvisor. A little difficult to locate as we didn't have the full address. The search was worth our while. The paintings around the restaurant walls added a bohemian touch to the restaurant. We had the half portions which were ample enough. Two starters and two main courses. Salmon carpaccio, cod, lamb. They were not full, The service was okay, the wine was excellent. Would have loved to have had another meal here.
