“Fast Service, Delicious food.”
Reviewed October 23, 2012

This excellent tapas bar, with tables in a room at the back offers excellent food and very speedy service. It is a typical tapas bar serving fairly standard, very fresh food. The selection of seafood is excellent and the atmosphere in the Bar Celta is hectic and enjoyable. It is not smart, the prices are very reasonable yet in a strange way it offers spanish romantic vibes. Well worth a visit but not somewhere to linger romantically over a meal.

“Take the time to find this place, great!”
Reviewed October 4, 2012

Read about it first in Time Out, found it in the back streets, frequented by locals, so that's got to be a good sign. We went back twice, loved the pimentos, deep fried and lots of sea salt. The decor is very retro, doesn't look as though it's changed since the 50's. We were told by the waiter it's named after a football team in the West.
They serve the delicious Albarino wine in bowls, not too fussed on the octopus, and it was expensive, but squid was great. Good service, we went twice.

“Excellent tapas experience!”

We enjoyed Good atmosphere and tasty food! Fresh food needs simple seasoning!! Sangria will only be charged for how much you drink even though they open a new bottle for you!

“Stone cold classic”
Reviewed August 30, 2012

Yes its tucked away, but visit in the evening and you can hear the raucous clientele a block away! Went twice during a local visit, once mid afternoon when it was quiet and we were the only customers (the guy was charming though) and once late at night when it was frankly insane! The stalwarts of Galician food are all represented here - pulpo gallega, empanada etc, as well as vast quantites of fried items ready to be fried again for your delectation. The only green foodstuff accross a vista of beige were the notorious pimento del padron. Don't expect healthy food here - its stodgy but great for absorbing the booze, which flows like water here. Its a hard-drinking establishment - beers or the Galician wine Ribiereo served in sake like cups - great fun, and ask for a bottle rather than just a drink, I don't think you can only get one bowls worth. Mad crazy fun, but don't go for the food specifically, go for the atmosphere and the good times! Did I mention that its dirt cheap too, and open in August! (not as strange as it sounds, many of the better places are shut during this month)

“Local treasure”
Reviewed August 9, 2012

Great food, excellent wine and authentic experience. Not a typical tourist place so brush up on your Spanish tapas names before you go or just order and be pleasantly surprised like we were.
