“Great tapas Bar”
Reviewed August 3, 2012

Amazing pulpo a la gallega, pimientos del padrón, patatas bravas... you name it!!
Terrible street presence hides a local's favorite. Wonderful food (specializing in fish tapas and, obviously octopus) and very decent prices.

“Featured in several guide books, a disappointment”
Reviewed July 25, 2012

Celta are mentioned in several guidebooks as a very nice tapas bar, so we had pretty high expectations. Went there and found a mediocre tapas bar. We had several different tapas and unfortunatly we didnt have that wonderful tapas exprience we was expecting.

“Take the time to find this place!”
Reviewed July 14, 2012

As a frequent traveler to Barcelona I came upon Bar Celta for the first time while strolling in from the waterfront. Although I was not impressed with the street presence the place was packed and a line was patiently formed with locals. I decided to join the seemingly knowing, smiling people.
The menu is amazingly extensive. The special that night was steamed octopus. Okay, thank you, i'm not so sure about this one. BUT, I tried and was delightfully transformed into a pulpo lover.
Their wines are plentiful; the beer offerings satisfy most; and the ambiance is wonderful.

“Fun atmosphere, good tapas”
Reviewed July 2, 2012

We were staying across the street from this place and noticed that it was always full with patrons spilling on to the street. So we checked it out and were not disappointed - good tapas, great selection, fast service, great atmosphere and cold beer. We thought the prices were fair and if you like seafood then this is the place!

“Excellent Galicia food in the heart of Barcelona - must try!”
Reviewed June 22, 2012

The tapas here are excellent! I had my favorite patata brava here. Pulpo is a must try, so are the deep fried pimentos.

The white wine served in small cups look like a regular beverage they serve their customers, and it is indeed a good companion to have with the fabulous tapas.

Even if you can't speak Spanish, you can just point at the food on the counter, and they'll prepare and serve it to you. Even though the uncooked food may not look appetizing (e.g the pimentos, green pepper/chilli), they did turn out yummy after the preparation.

One thing we didn't quite like about the place was that the waiter tried to serve and charge us something which we didn't order. We had to insist that we didn't order and therefore should not be charged. Other than this, it was a good experience at the place.
